wildtrac77 Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Well meeting someone to date seems to be getting harder these days so where is the best places/ intrests that you can think of/ have been succesfull with to meet someone??
grkBoy Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Charity events, walk-a-thons/marathons, cooking classes, housewarming parties thrown by friends who know many people you don't... "Success" really though is based on who comes to the event and how well you handle yourself socially. So if you attend a cooking class aimed at couples or at a time when only old people go...then you're screwed. Likewise, you could be at the housewarming party or charity event and basically are unable to handle yourself socially...thus you won't get anywhere. There isn't any full-proof spot where one will meet and score a date. It really comes down to you and your ability to attract others.
Emilia Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 There is no one-size-fits-all because it depends on the kind of person you are after. I'm sporty so a lot of my social life revolves around sport events/hobbies but I meet different types of men depending on the activity. Surfers are usually in their 20s, maybe early 30s, sailors are often older (except in dinghy sailing who are closer to surfers). They are different types of men usually not just because of the age variety but also because different activities attract different mentality. I'd say group activities are usually good. Ie don't hang out with a bunch of triathlon lot, they are more likely to be solitary types. Reading clubs ditto. Having said that, you will make friends much easier if you join clubs/meetups/etc related to stuff you enjoy as a hobby. Widening your social circle is your best bet.
Emilia Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 -hiking groups (and other Nature activities) -book clubs -vegetarian outings to ethnic events, local eateries. A lot of girls love stuff like this, there are LOADS of meetup groups based on these interests
