eleanorhurting Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Do you ever say yes to same day invitations? Like Hey do you want to catch dinner today? Or hey do you want to go to the movies today?
PugInPajamas Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Sure! I don't pretend I'm "too busy" if I'm free. Life is too short for games.
oaks Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Do you ever say yes to same day invitations? Like Hey do you want to catch dinner today? Or hey do you want to go to the movies today? If you're actually free, and you want to do that thing with that person, why would you say anything other than "yes"?
renata Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 If you're actually free, and you want to do that thing with that person, why would you say anything other than "yes"? Pretty much.
Author eleanorhurting Posted November 27, 2011 Author Posted November 27, 2011 i ditched. I'm trying to focus on studying and avoiding any situations
Author eleanorhurting Posted November 28, 2011 Author Posted November 28, 2011 If you're actually free, and you want to do that thing with that person, why would you say anything other than "yes"? because you dont want to seem too eager? i dont understand the games people play honestly
oaks Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 because you dont want to seem too eager? i dont understand the games people play honestly So why are you playing the not-wanting-to-seem-too-eager game if you don't understand the rules? I guess you didn't really want to see him, or do the thing he invited you to.
Author eleanorhurting Posted November 28, 2011 Author Posted November 28, 2011 i guess im a coward and i'm still trying to figure out the whole getting to know people casually thing.
futuregopher Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 I could see why you didn't go. I guess it's different for guys. Now that I am by myself, I would say "yes" to whenever anyone asks me to hang out no matter how late even if it's my guy friends just because I've seen "Yes Man" and there's always hope that I might meet someone cool there. If it were a girl who asked me to hang out last second I would have tried to make it work but that's just b/c I'm a guy But since you're a girl it's different.
Author eleanorhurting Posted November 28, 2011 Author Posted November 28, 2011 i usually say yes to my friends. But with guys ever since my "breakups" this year I'm trying to make smart choices and thread lightly.
xpaperxcutx Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 i usually say yes to my friends. But with guys ever since my "breakups" this year I'm trying to make smart choices and thread lightly. That's not playing games, it's called being smart. I know a few people who actually take the consideration to give me a heads up about meeting up, it tells me they're not ones who act impulsively without considering my schedule. Likewise, I recently came to know a guy who only ever contacts me out of the blue when he's bored or when he wants to hang out. He never talks to me or bothers to call, but will nevertheless texts me about meeting up that exact same night. So far I 've turned him down three times. Again, I reiterate it's not called playing games. I have a very busy schedule where I am holding down two jobs at once so I barely have time to relax or destress. As of now, things can only be on my terms, and I have politely told him this.
Author eleanorhurting Posted November 28, 2011 Author Posted November 28, 2011 my experience has been that alot of times when someone calls you at the last minute it is because they have an itch they want you to scratch
