Paper Roses Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 It's finally over and you should be relieved but all you can do is think about wonderful it used to be? You've forgotten about all the hurt feelings, misery and the shabby way you were treated by your ex and all you focus on is how sweet, funny and how totally great it was at one time. He's still calling me, the last call was 2 days ago and I'm sitting around dying to finally call him back and just joke around with him the way we used to do. I know you guys don't know me, but would you mind shaking some sense into me?

I know you guys don't know me, but would you mind shaking some sense into me? That is pretty normal Paper Roses. I often just want to contact my ex or him to contact me or throw me something. I miss the good times we used to have as well. These urges will subside.
Author Paper Roses Posted November 25, 2011 Author Posted November 25, 2011 Thanks Chelsea. I have that sick, empty feeling today. It'll go away, I guess.
ChelseaLS Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Thanks Chelsea. I have that sick, empty feeling today. It'll go away, I guess. It does go away eventually... then it comes back, then it goes away. It's a roller coaster. I have that sick feeling again for the last two days as well. Time and patients... patients, something I am horrible at. Chin up. We all will make it.

I know you guys don't know me, but would you mind shaking some sense into me? Totally normal. At some point, we all go through the grief of losing something we treasured, even if the thing we lost was bad for us. My advice: follow the No Contact policy until you feel you can stand on your own. Use that time to rationally evaluate the time you spent with your ex, and see if you're actually missing them, or just the good times. Once you've evaluated it, then you can decide whether to pick up the phone.
