a question about feelings that are forced to fade away...

How do you guys think, if a couple decided to break up not because their feelings were over for each other, but because their relationship couldnt survive because of some other circumstances (example: long distance, any other reasons), how do you think, do those feelings that they had while breaking up stay inside of their hearts, or do they actually fade away at some point?

I just had to break up with the guy i love and who loves me, just cause this relationship couldnt survive anyway because of certain circumstances that didnt depend on us....so I am just wondering that if I meet him in a few years, someday, will his heart still beat faster?

do feelings that have never faded away naturally but were forced to fade away cause of certain reasons...do they actually ever fade away? (I hope my question is understandable)

If you guys have similar stories like that, you are more than welcome to share....I am just a bit sad now that things turned out to be so between us, so would just like to hear your opinions and stories..thank you!
