nowwhatnow Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 i honestly have no idea how to do this dating thing. i mean i go to parties, flirt with guys and try to make a connection but it never seems to work. how do i make a connection? what to guys look for? in class i always try and seem nice, i make eye contact, and try to look approachable. what should i do?

Why don't you look around at (the rest of life) and find things that you're really interested in, and take a class, or join a club, or do some other activity that really matters to you? It is from pursuits like that when you'll be *noticed* as the person who is pursuing her personal interests, and that seeming 'drive' you display will be what attracts guys. Plus, the chances are multiplied considerably that you'll meet someone who shares at least something significant in common with you. The underlying trick is to meet as many people as you can... from every direction... (bonus if they're always sober when you meet them). School IS a grand place to meet people, because each of you have independent pursuits and are caused to have some commonality as well. Most of the appeal to school is how many people you can meet. Beware that it won't be too long before school is behind you and the numbers of people you meet diminish greatly. So how about adding a routine to your life NOW, which could come in handy as a means of meeting people later?

Get new clothes, work out, etc. When you feel comfortable with yourself you can attempt to meet guys. The best way is to put yourself out there. Try online dating, go to religious functions, go to meetup.com or one of those meeting sites, join a cooking class, play tennis at a club. Do whatever it is that interests you and get out there.
Author nowwhatnow Posted November 26, 2011 Author Posted November 26, 2011 i actually have been improving myself. ive adopted a new style, bought new clothes, i have a new hairstyle and i got more involved and made an effort to make new friends and meet new people. right now i volunteer in an NGO, work part time, go to school, play soccer, and run. ive also started going out more to parties to try and meet new guys. i definitely will try the damsel in distress haha. but ive never really considered online dating, i just figured it would happen... any more suggestions? i also want to give off the signal that i am single and interested in dating.
Optimus_Rhyme Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 My advise is to just do what you're doing. You seem like a down to earth, genuine person and will attract that type. What i would like to know is HOW exactly do you flirt? it could be that you're too subtle. Also, just go up and start talking to guys, if there is someone you like, and you see them regularly, make sure, you go over and talk to them ALONE each time, be yourself, be friendly and nice. A woman who is not single would not do this and thats one way to give off the single/interested vibe.
