Hi, i'm new here but glad to have found a place I can maybe get some opinions/advice.

I'm 37,in a civil partnership since 2010. Blissfully happy at first then my partners job returned to the USA, where she is originally from. We did long distance for a year, which was tough on us both. I partiularly found it hard, missed her and was more demanding than i ought to have been.

Six months ago my teen son and I moves to the USA and now our relationship is over from her perspective.

I became financially dependent upon her as my visa does not allow me to work here. All my personal savings were eaten up in the previous year on flights over to see each other. During our marriage we shared all our finances, but since being here she has said she wants to protect her assets.

Feeling vulnerable i put aside a few hundred dollars out of money sent for my son fron his father, and did not tell her or be honest about it. She sniffed out my lie and even though i explained i felt vulnerable especially at the goal posts seem to have moved. She has now moved out to stay with a friend and is

very angry and does not trust me. She also asked me to leave so i have booked our flights back to the uk. She has now restricted my access to any finances and is basically acting as if she hates me.

I love her with all my heart, am sorry for my mistakes and do not want to lose our marriage. But we cannot go on like this. She is also angry because i booked flights to another part of the usa to see a relative before we leave for the uk. Just to give me some additional time to find work and accomodation.

Right now i am trying to avoid her when she comes to the house.

Any thoughts are most welcome.

Yikes,

Sounds more like the marriage of hate.

Well, it seems like there is little to rescue there.

I think going back to the UK sounds like a very good idea. With time you'll forget all about her and you'll have your adventure in the USA to tell.

Good luck.

Yep, the bottom line is that she wants out. The hidden money thing is an excuse because she herself wants to protect her assets. Why can't you protect yours? Move back to the UK. Life goes on...
