Hello everyone, if anyone is familiar with my thread, you'd know that I was screwed over pretty badly by a girl (I can't even call her my ex because we were never official). It's been about a week of NC and I feel much better! Of course, some days are harder than others but I know it is all a journey and I am looking forward to it.

I have been through worse breakups and have come out a MUCH better person, both emotionally and physically. I just wanted to ask...

What do girls notice the most in their ex-boyfriends when they've seen them after months, maybe even years? What gives you that "wow, he's really changed for the better"?

Oddly enough I haven't seen any of my real long term ex's after the breakup. I suppose we are very different, go to different places, have different interests and so we never bump into eachother.

I would say for me it's happiness, confidence and if the person seems to be at ease with himself. I don't know if they would be "changes", but those are the things that would make me take a second look.

For me, with just about every ex, seeing them after an extended period has only given me a huge sense of relief that it never worked out! However, this is with the exception of one. I can't give you something specific, it was just seeing him that set off 'that feeling'.

If I were to try and give a less personal answer it would be - nice clothes, good hair, nice aftershave, an air of contentment, and a massive (genuine) smile.

I fully agree. I have always been relieved after that it never worked out with an ex... whether I saw them or not.

I heard my one ex got a full time job.. which I thought was impressive lol considering he was an adult living at mom and dads, but not going to school. It's move attractive, but I still wouldn't give him a second look.
