thatcatlady67 Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 I have been dating my co-worker for 4 months. I am quickly losing interest because I can't figure out what his intentions are. I don't want to ask. I feel that if I have to ask, there's my answer. I am not devastated, as we never got intimate and I didn't get too emotionally invested. Just disappointed and feel like I have been wasting my time. My gut told me to wait, take things as slow as possible, and it worked for a while. Now I see things for what they are-nothing. This is the last time dating someone I work with. It is just too awkward and you have to see them every day if something goes haywire.
Emilia Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 That's why it's generally a terrible idea to date a co-worker.
Author thatcatlady67 Posted November 21, 2011 Author Posted November 21, 2011 that's another thing, meeting his family members and close friends is no guarantee of anything. Maybe they told him to forget it. I don't kinow, don't want to know.
Author thatcatlady67 Posted November 21, 2011 Author Posted November 21, 2011 He did not dump me, I backed off and just don't want to deal with him. Nothing to dump, really, nothing happened between us, other than a few hugs and peck-like kisses. I am just bored with the whole thing and yes, impatient. I have never had a guy not try to make a move, after 4 months, or 9 months, when he first asked me out.
phineas Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Maybe he's shy? Maybe you arn't showing him you are ready for that? Why don't you make the move?
Author thatcatlady67 Posted November 21, 2011 Author Posted November 21, 2011 he acts shy, but I was told by others that he absolutely isn't. Also, I don't want to make the first move or ask him what he wants with me. Without fail, every time I have done that it has ended badly.
Author thatcatlady67 Posted November 21, 2011 Author Posted November 21, 2011 He was supposed to visit me this weekend but blew me off. I made sure my son was out of the house and all. I was more than ready for fun and games, but he flaked, never even called, now today he is acting like nothing is going on.
Author thatcatlady67 Posted November 21, 2011 Author Posted November 21, 2011 I wonder if, I don't feed the trolls, they will go away?
phineas Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 She is clearly, a cold sore covered female with many guy friends and self entitlement complex. You see, women should never do anything. Men must read their mind and do everything right and initiate everything as well. She is just a poor princes...boo hoo....pity party! Finally! A Troll with an edge! I was really disapointed with the last batch of trolls. So lame & uncreative. Good show. OP, don't listen to him.

It sounds like he thinks you are just a friend. The only time I paid attention to a woman for that long without sex was because she was leading me on & you said that isn't the problem. So either he has friendzoned you or he's gay. Since it's about to end anyways why don't you get some closure & ask him WTF?!?
Author thatcatlady67 Posted November 21, 2011 Author Posted November 21, 2011 I am 44 and he is 63. No, nothing official between us except we are 'dating'. He is definitely not gay. Why waste my time with this friend crap? Either you want to or you don't. I don't want to talk to him, not interested in wtf what is his problem.

I'm about 40 & feel the exact same way. at 63 are you sure everything still works? And i hope I can pull women in their 40's when i'm in my 60's. well If I snag a 20 something now it will still be the same result. That aside, you both sound like poor comunicators. I'm not trying to be mean but you sound exactly like a woman I dated once that was the type If I didn't just start undressing her we never would of had sex. I had to litterally tell her what to do because she never initiated anything. She felt a man should just do it I guess. But she did exactly what I told her to do. I really didn't like things that way. The types of guys she dated were they badboy type so It fizzled out. Another woman you remind me of: I was friends with a woman & she invited me over to hang out for a movie. I thought we were friends but apparantly I was supposed to try & have sex with her because i'm a man & that's what men are supposed to do. I didn't know. I thought just friends means just friends. Who knew.
insertnamehere Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 if I have to ask Ladies? It's **** like this right here that is why men end up hating women. Grow up. If you want something, you ask. Why? Because you only get what you ask for in life. Orbiting around, hoping that the outcome you desire will metastasize out of thin air doesn't work.

Not all men get high fives from their family and friends for dating someone young enough to be their daughter. Especially his daughter(s) if he has any. I'm sure he is enjoying your company though. What is wrong with having a male friend? You could ask... or you could assume he's just not interested in something sexual and enjoy his company too.
Author thatcatlady67 Posted November 22, 2011 Author Posted November 22, 2011 I don't think the age difference is an issue, After all, he started pursuing me. I have enough friends already, looking for more than that. I'm not sure I can be 'just friends' with him anyway. I am glad however that it didn't go further. Again, no more getting involved with co-workers!
Duckduckgoose Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 He was probably just as confused about your intentions as you were about his
Author thatcatlady67 Posted November 22, 2011 Author Posted November 22, 2011 The trolls need to try harder, you guys need some new material. I do agree with some posters that I should just ask him what's up, but it is hard for me to. It feels kinda weird at work now, he is ignoring me and vice versa. Maybe after work I will mention it and then let it go.
