I accept your apology for womankind, but I think after all this time I'm going to need reperations as well :p

Actually, while I used to be very bitter towards women, I still felt a little guilty when something I said or did would make a girl cry and would apologize for that. Well, that is until I had a girl tell me "don't apologize to me, it's sooo unattractive" :lmao:. Add in the fact that women don't apologize to me, and I don't do it anymore.

I don't consider myself to be submissive what so ever, but women, controlled and willful submission is kindness, not weakness.

I'll give you some reperations;):p

If you only knew just how many women actually accept all the blame for a relationship's demise...

This isn't a gender-specific issue.

Even during early childhood saying the dreadful word ''I'm sorry'' was something difficult. People keep saying apologizing is simple and makes you a stronger person but IMO it feels like bending backwards and throwing a heavy luggage on yourself.

That's an interesting point.

I find that "I'm sorry" is a lot easier to say when I truly feel sorry. I WANT to say it when I feel sorry.

I find the same is true for my children. When you force a young child to say "sorry", it can be like pulling teeth (and clearly not sincere). But if you give the child some space, let them process the situation, and listen to their point of view, often they will offer a genuine apology on their own--especially if it has been modeled (the adult apologizes to them, as well).

Adults aren't so different.

Why wouldn't the Ivies count? Women in the Ivies are still women. It doesn't matter where it's an Ivy League school or not. A bunch of my friends who are women are PhD candidates in different science fields at state universities. They didn't get accepted into the schools by magic. They actually have the numbers and experiences to back up their success.

And, you think affirmative action is what get these women in the fields that they are in? It's highly insulting since they are all intelligent and worked hard to get to where they are. Don't diminish their achievements by blaming it on affirmative action.

1. Are the Ivy League schools competitive, such that whomever they take, male or female, is the cream of the crop, giving them more latitude in setting up their class composition? yesssss.

2. Are the Ivy League schools also the most egregious practitioners of affirmative action? yesssss.

Analysis ends there.

That's interesting, would like to hear more detail on that if you care to share. So on your political forum, men actually toss directed potshots at women like women do to men here? Are these back and forth party politics things? or gender related?

Actually, it's usually the extreme liberals that attack the women or more accuratly they attack anyone who doesn't agree with them. Go figure.

There is a definite lack of respect when it comes to women from some men on there.

Less so with women towards men.

The men are basically trolls that we keep banning but they are undenaibly supportors of the democratic party & have issues with women.

The choice between a black man & a woman during the primaries almost made their heads explode. LOL!

The Admins wound up cleaning house because some members started playing detective & finding other posters in real life. Yeah, it went that far.

The site was dead for a while but is starting to pick up again with the election looming.

The republican supporters while disagreeing with the few liberal women didn't get crude with them or call names. much. LOL!

Not talking about inability to rope a model, movie star or millionaire or other "skewed" long shot dealies. Women seem to capitulate to those just fine.

Talk to a male friend about their existing relationship, the topic "am I messing up with her?" comes up near instantly, and it's all over this board to boot. Talk to a female friend about their existing relationship, the topic "is he messing up with me?" comes up near instantly, and is also all over this board.

Really?

If I screw up I own it.

Nothing delays the fix of a screw up more than not admiting to it.

People really are entangled in their own biased and limited perceptions and experiences, aren't they?

If only it were possible to fathom the full scope of things.

It's not.

So stop pretending to know wtf you're talking about.

---------- I'd venture to guess, however, that things are not exactly even either, when isolating the "genders". But it's not BECAUSE of the "genders" that they are not.

I can't speak for other fields, but a very big chunk of women in IT and Engineering are indeed the product of affirmative action. I tried to study Engineering but lost interest , probably more than half the women I spoke to in my classes were there on full "Women's" scholarships with cushy jobs virtually guaranteed at the end of their studies.

I suspect other male-dominated fields like the hard sciences, medicine, etc would yield similar results. Scholarships should be based on your ability as well as your economic position, there's no reason why an upper middle class woman should get an engineering scholarship when some dirt poor farm kid in West Virginia who may have a natural talent for it will never be able to go to school because he's no eligible.

Sure there are people who are helped by affirmative action, but most of them actually got to where they are with talent and intelligence. A lot of them are also on scholarship because they have outstanding stats. Most of my friends got almost perfect score on the GRE. Some of them are published even before grad school. I'm sure they didn't get in because of affirmative action. I'm in a science field myself, and I'm pretty sure I didn't get in through affirmative action. I came from a poor family from a third-world country, and I got to where I want to be. If you have natural talent, there's no reason why you shouldn't get to where you want to, and there's definitely no reason to blame the lack of success on other people.

Oh I see now, and know exactly the kind of thing you are describing. Probably that is a function of an intelligence bell curve also LOL.

Both genders do the whole reality distortion thing. The difference is that our society allows women to get away with it unquestioned.

Many supposedly innate gender differences are nothing more than social window dressing on a underlying biological reality. Yes women do bond more emotionally to their partners and children and friends than men do. Yes women do care more than men about how others see them.

That does not mean men don't care at all. Have a married man on his knees in front of you say "I'm not gay" just before he sucks it. Have a man make sweet love to you then get all panicky because of what enjoying you means about him. Have a woman with lesbian leanings or unexplored tendencies freak out in the same way.

Yes, both of the genders our western euro-american civilization recognizes are capable of great distortions. Those of us who are in between can see them clearly. That said I do agree women are allowed to get away with far more total BS than men in this regard. I think it makes up for all the oppression in other areas.

Hey Mr Lonely , weren't you at some point a ms Lonely ? :D

IF so, I think your opinion on these matters is valuable, since you've seen it from both sides of the fence.

I remember an experiment a female journalist did where she disguised herself as a man and socialized with women romantically. Safe to say, by the end of the experiment she became a full blown misogynist , LOL.

Posted

I choose that name because I wanted to ask a question here about the troubles I have when I do deal with women. Which is not often. It's just easier than having to explain this to people who I had no idea would be homo/trans phobic or not.

I am a male to female transsexual, pre-op. The number of women I have been with at any level of intimacy could be counted on one hand*. The number of men I have been with would take a couple dozen hands at least. Whatever that says about my sexual orientation.

I remember that experiment. It was by a lesbian journalist who wanted to see what dating women as a man was like. This book is about that.

http://www.amazon.com/Self-Made-Man-Womans-Journey-Manhood/dp/0670034665

She got to experience some of the utter BS that women do to men. That BS is the number 1 reason that men who are straight will consider a transsexual. They tell me that it's because I know what life as a man is like and that it's not all cigars and brandy at the old boys club.

*That is actually true of most gay men of a certain age. All that grooming, working out, and good manners can make women hot for you without even trying.

Posted

I would never dare a transsexual but I do agree that many women seem to think that all men have these charmed lives wear an old boys network rolls out the carpet for us when it is far from true.

@Woggle.

You never know. Many transsexuals aren't at all obvious. You might go on a couple dates with one and never find out if you don't get to the third date. (Generally that's when things get serious and things like what's in your pants become the other persons business.)

Yes, some are gorgeous and you really can't tell. How often do the straight men freak out when they discover the girl is a transsexual? Is it common or do they just go with it?

Posted

@Shannon.

They freak out often enough.

This is why many girls who are post-op and can pass, even down there, never ever tell. They tell their husband that they are sterile/had a hysterectomy and cut all ties with their past lives.

Some guys freak out so badly that they kill the woman.

Female to male transsexuals face similar problems. Male to female transsexuals who are lesbian, bi or just open to dating women face similar problems.

I really just wanted to point out that both genders do it. It's not a male VS female thing. When it comes to sex, gender and mating there is nothing rational or logical about it.
