A lot of times they don't even have to share their money with women, they like you just for having it and being a "winner". You'd be surprised at what cheapskates a lot of the wealthier people are. I know a girl who picked a guy with a 6 figure salary over me, and despite me having like 500 bucks in my bank account, I actually shared more of what I had than this rich guy did, but that didn't matter.
