Lowib Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 so, my ex dumped me 3 times for this other guy who is an old friend of her. They have all the same friends and he is more her type since he is from the country and has a truck and works construction. She finds that more manly than my car and finance job. We raised her daughter together since birth.....I just can't stop thinking about them together. I'm sexually frustrated if you know what i mean because they are all i think about. Any words of encouragement for those who have been dumped for another guy?
ChelseaLS Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Try to replace those thoughts with positive ones. It's hard to do, but the more you do it the easier it is. When you think of them visualize that thought as a bug and step on it. Then replace it with a positive one that has nothing to do with them, or her, or your past.
Berlington Bob Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 I find that my mind has been replacing the image of my ex with the image of an old GF I am way over. At first I was thinking its weird but now I actually help my mind make that image. That way when I think of them together my mind kind of tricks itself into thinking its the other gf. It has gotten to the point where I can't even picture my ex's face with much detail anymore and its only been 2 weeks since the b/u.
Mcnulty Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Going through the same thing, only difference is she's with a friend of mine, so i know him as well as her, so it makes my thoughts of them together all the more clear....it's killing me. I wish I could offer words of encouragement here. She didn't even tell me we were over, let alone seeing my friend, so I have been betrayed by 2 people not one...couldn't get any worse, the feelings I have at the moment. If it happened 3 times, for the same guy, you know that it is definitely not going to work with her. I'm afraid you have to try to gain some acceptance about the relationship. Write down all the things about her and the relationship that you didn't like. I have done this and it helps a little. Good luck and stay strong.
nu464 Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Why have you been going on and off? Is he mean? I don't know him but I go by this cute saying I found "If you can't get someone out of your mind maybe that's were they are supposed to be." Sit down and think about it which one do you like better.

Focusing on an ex that I am over, but think was a great person/companion. I even trick myself into thinking about getting back together with her rather than my ex who has moved on. It helps at times.

Any words of encouragement for those who have been dumped for another guy? I feel you pain man. My ex dumped me for her ex. and it has been one of the most painful things I've ever had to deal with. I know what you mean about thinking about "them" all the time,,, I did, we all did but time will ease that,it's normal, your ok, this will get better!! Seems like your just not her type (country, truck, construction) There are plenty of women out there who would love to be with you and your type. Easier said than done but you just have to let go and move on,, 3 times she dumped you, that's gotta tell you something.
