i met this guy through a friend, and we been emailing each other for quite some time now, but the only problem is he's in iraq right now and will be coming home in a month for 2 weeks, but then will be returning to iraq again. but will be back by January 2005. i am beginning to like him, but when he does come home for the 2 weeks, i hope to get to know him a little better. well my question is do you think it's possible to work if we do end up together, and how should i be able to handle this situation, and what should i do? will the long distance relationship work? please help me and give me some advice

I think you're really jumping the gun here - there is no relationship as yet and no one is going to be able to tell you if things can work out between the two of you, only you two know the answer to that one.

Even in the 2 weeks that he is home I don't see that you can develop a relationship as such. Surely he needs to spend time with his friends & family so exactly how much time is he going to have spare to spend with you? I don't know either of your situations but I would suggest that you don't try to monopolise his 2 weeks home. I wouldn't think that would go down too well with the people who have been a part of his life a lot longer than you.

Just keep up the correspondence with each other & if you both feel that you would like to take this relationship forward you're just going to have to wait until Jan'05 to see where this is going to go.
