riggs Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Met a girl out and about this past weekend and figured she had changed her mind after no response from several texts. Then, after 4 days, I got a her number appeared on my phone. She told me during the course of our hour long texting session that she wasn't looking to date. Say what? I rolled with it. You give a guy your number and wait four days to tell him you aren't looking to date? C'mon.
USMCHokie Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Alcohol...? Or perhaps she wanted to avoid the awkward situation of saying no when you asked for her number...? It's just a number...
Art_Critic Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 I wouldn't want to date someone who texted for a hour rather than picking up the phone to talk with words either.. Sounds like she just figured out during that time that you weren't someone she wanted to date... no biggie.. that is what dating is.. figuring out what you want and don't want in a mate.. Some advice though.. the next time a girl gives you here phone number only text her that you are going to call her.. then do that.. you might get more than friendzoned.

I agree with this. The first and only thing you should ever do when you get a number is call it. If she's not there, leave a voicemail asking her to CALL you back...texting is lame.

Art_Critic Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 it would be weird as hell to get a girls number then call her, ... When you go on a date do you talk to her or text her from across the table ???? While younger generations do text more, texting is NOT a replacement for using words to get to know someone.. how are you supposed to get to know someone if you cannot hear the inflection in their voice.. Maybe you might find a deeper connection with someone that you actually called rather than texted.. just something to think about...

USMCHokie Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 at this point in time, a girl would simply say "what the ****?" This loosely translates into: "I am socially inept."
