Thinking of a girl tends to deepen my attraction and or liking of a girl, so if I don't want to like a girl, it's best for me not to think of her in that way.

Doubt any guy could honestly say he hadn't had such thoughts toward another woman he knows. There is a danger, however, in doing something like that, especially if it's a woman you're dating and wanting to pursue a LTR with. Posted this in another thread, a porn thread that was deleted, so repost for others to view. Dated this 30 y.o. virgin @26 for 6 mos. One night in MB'ing, fantasized about ending her virginity. Felt funny doing that during the act, and immediately after felt a lot of remorse. Soon after, she ended the relationship (against my wishes). In the future, tried to not lust like that in MB'ing toward the woman I was dating. Didn't want to "jinx" future relationships. Now, her ending our dating could have been purely coincidence and I may have overreacted as this woman I dated didn't know I lusted toward her like that and may have involved some abnormal religious sensitivies (guilt) on my part.
