verhrzn Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 thecollegianur.com/2011/09/01/a-letter-to-women/21036/ Obviously a similar article could be written against men, but for what it's trying to convey, the article does a pretty damn good job at being right on the money in my opinion. Right on the money about what, exactly? That women are FORCING men to objectify them? That women have somehow turned the men into animals? That somehow, how you dress is a no-flaws way to judge your sexual history and your character? Girls in corsets can be demure virgins. Girls in turtleneck sweaters can be poly-swinging-doms. It's also telling that the author never actually answers his hypothetical question in the first paragraph: "What, then, are you asking for? Do you want me to veil myself as the ancients did?" Well... IS that what he wants? How exactly does a chaste woman dress? How exactly does a "slutty" woman dress? So what exactly does the article get right... That it's perfectly all right to judge a woman by what she wears? That virtue is tied entirely to how a woman looks? The author doesn't mention specific behavior... he's judging a woman's sexual history, values and personality entirely by the fact that she's wearing a tight sweater and high heels, without ever getting to know her as a person first.
