Thinkalot Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 I'M SO HAPPY, HE'S SO HAPPY!!!! OK, so it wasn't a huge surprise....we've actually had the ring for a while now, and I guessed something was coming....but the way it happened was WONDERFUL! We got up to go for our usual morning walk on the beach, and my Bunnyboy said he had a headache and needed to sit down on a bench. I knew something was up. He'd been acting funny all morning, and I even heard him making a secret phone call. Anyway, I played along and went off walking by myself around the corner. When I came back he was on the beach, in the middle of a heart he'd drawn in the sand, with flower petals scattered around and a message in the sand saying "will you marry me?". Then he got on one knee and asked me in person, I of course said yes, and then started crying and just hugged him. The sun came out from behind the clouds at the right moment too. He said other words to me before he asked, and I was so overcome, I couldn't remember them afterwards, and asked him to say them again, so I can record them in my diary! Then he said, "that's not all...now the exciting bit begins." We got in the car, and he had 'our' song playing on CD, and then we went to the airport, and went SKYDIVING!!! Oh wow! It was awesome. He knows I'm a thrillseeker and really wanted me to remember the day!!! I sure will. It was fantastic...the view over the beaches and mountains where we live was perfect too. So we really were on 'cloud 9'!! Now, we are off to see a Sarah Mclachlan concert in Sydney...I'm staying down a bit longer next week, with my friend. YAY! We are going to look at wedding dresses when I'm down there too. P.S. he even rang my dad yesterday and asked his permission...and dad was there to take pictures of the skydiving Thinkalot 4 Bunnyboy 4 eva

I've been texting/calling all my friends...and so has he...it's wonderful to be able to start telling people, and planning for the wedding from now. My Dad couldn't wait to bowl over and give me a hug...he is so thrilled and proud. I should add, for anyone who is interested, we are planning to wed on an island in Fiji next April, with our close friends and family present. The invitations we decided we will send out in bottles, as a 'message in a bottle' in keeping with the sea theme.

Author Thinkalot Posted May 23, 2004 Author Posted May 23, 2004 I was so excited on the day, I kept telling people in stores or whatever..."we just got engaged! look... (flashes ring here)!" It's been so long coming it is wonderful it's finally happened. We bought the ring in 2002!! Then sh*t happened, so we put talk of marriage on the backburner. Early this year, we started talking about how we'd both love it to happen...and the time seemed right. I knew it was bound to happen soon...
