Woman at grocery store comes on to me in the middle of the night. Need thoughts

Last night, about 12:15 am, after i got off my second job, i went to a grocery store going to get a few things for lunch the next day. I passed an aisle i saw a beautiful asian chick who was in the vitamin section. However, not really trying to come back, about 5 minutes later, i had to get some vitamins that happened to be on the same aisle she was on. Then she just started talking to me all of a sudden. We got into a long conversation about vitamins and vitamins to help you sleep. Then, she was telling me she works in the make up section of SAKS fifth avenue. We stood up in there talking for about 10 minutes and she was flirting and touching me flirtatiously while she was telling a story.

 

She said she had 3 kids and showed me pictures of them on her phone. However, this woman looked like she could've been at least 35. Yes she was beautiful, had nice breasts and sexy waistline, but not a stitch of baby fat. She still had a body of a 19 or 20 yo girl who never had kids.

 

Anyway, as we were leaving the store, we exchange numbers, which i admit was probably stupid on my part.

 

Now, i've never had a woman come on to me like this so easy. It's unusual for a woman to be out so late and being so open talking to a complete stranger, especially a man. So i started thinking that this may be too good to be true and my paranoia started setting in. I started thinking...

 

1) She's a hooker

2) She's a transvestite

3) She could be a decoy for a robbery set up (although i saw her get in her car on her own)

 

I'd like some opinions from others on these possible red flags. What do you guys think? I don't want the brain between my legs overcloud the real brain on my head.

 

Thoughts would really be appreciated.

if shes a hooker, put it in the back of your mind and call her up for dinner. if your interested in her go for it. if you have more then one date, you know shes not a hooker or she would say something lol. if she is, she will say "dinner? honey im a hooker" simple as that.

It's possible she was a prostitute or that she was just looking to get laid. There's a slight chance she is what they used to call a Murphy Artist or some other con term I can't remember. The con involves getting you back to her house, clothes all or partially off, and then an angry BF or husband busts in and threatens to kill you. He chases you out and of course you leave your wallet. Or he simply demands your money outright. Take strange women met in those circumstances to hotels never to your place or theirs.

Niagara falls. I'd like to think i just got lucky. My little fella was at full salute while talking to her. Like i said, i don't want to think from that brain. The worst that can happen? (aside from AIDS and all the other STDs which i could get from any other woman) there runs a good chance that "she" could be a "he". If i tapped it and found out later, i'd never be able to get over that.

 

This woman looked woman. HOT, pretty, short, and nice bod. But approaching a stranger "man" in the middle of the night is what got me wondering. Women just don't usually do that, especially since there's so many crazy men out there.

The problem is, she was in the vitamin section. With the exception of calcium supplements and a few others, the vast majority of supplements offer no reduction in the rate of illness or any benefit at all. If these products actually required FDA approval, they`d all be recalled. Vitamins to help you sleep? Come on. Obviously, she`s just waiting for the chance to knock you unconscious and sell your organs on the black market.

Actually, valerian root, melatonin, and a couple other natural things are effective for many people for sleep problems. Very easy to tell whether those work or not. I use valerian root myself sometimes. Those are all sold in the vitamin section.

melatonin. that's exactly what she was showing me. I told her i take benadryl or OTC sleep aid pills. She was saying she didn't like those because of the other chemicals they use in them.

 

Maybe i am a bit paranoid being in such a big city. Her name being jeyems (pronounced the same as "James") kindof scared me too, but at the time i figured it could've been some asian thing especially becuause of the spelling. Hell i've known girls with the names: Brian and Michael and dudes with the names: Kelly, Stacy, Tracy, and Ashley

Man you can go all out paranoia with this, but in the end this is no different than any other woman you meet anywhere. The fact that she was very touchy with a stranger in a grocery store is kinda fishy but not completely outlandish, some people are innately touchy. If she was touching your arm and smiling it's one thing, if she was reaching down around your waist and leaning into you with her breasts or body quite another. In your shoes, I'd call and ask her out, then you will start to get your answer. BTW, I think her name is cool as hell, it's probably an anglicized version or abbreviation of her real name.

It does sound a little fishy but who knows...the robbery setup thing is the most plausible but if that was the case she would have probably tried to get you alone right then and there. I was always paranoid about that when i did the chatline thing with women looking to hookup. Hell give her a call and meet in a public place..you wont know unless u try

This is more an indicator of yourself, and the fact that you don't feel highly enough about yourself to think any woman would hit on you.

 

If you leave the house enough, sooner or later you are bound to run into some woman that finds you attractive for whatever reasons.

 

Especially when you point out that she's over 30, with kids, where else do you think she is meeting guys all the time?

 

She's probably super busy, and randomly felt "lucky" that some guy bumped into her at the vitamin section.

 

But because she was too forward, you view it as slutty or even worse, like she wants to steal your wallet or something, when more than likely, this could've easily led to the two of you meeting up again.

Those aren't red flags. Those are paranoid thoughts based on nothing at all. Some people would consider "she approached me" to be a red flag, because traditionally it's the guys who approach the girls. Maybe that's what spooked you?

 

Ask her on a date but, as with any first date with a stranger, remember to meet somewhere public and tell someone where you're going. (Those rules don't apply just to women!) Don't forget that she's got 3 kids, so you may have to be flexible on the scheduling of that date depending on what childcare arrangements she can make.

You guys and my pops all say the same thing. He told me not to worry about that and its common for women to shop late at night. He said the same thing that dasein said: He would do it if he were in my shoes.

 

I'm gonna go ahead and ask her out, and will update the status. But if you guys don't hear from me again, you can safely assume how it went down, a combination between my 3rd paranoia guess and what MaxNoob said. LOL

Why think such bad things? What time does Saks close? Could she work late? Hookers don't show strangers their children--they deny them or never bring them up at all (I would think, as I am not a patron). NY is the city that never sleeps. You can meet someone any time. I had a Korean woman--exceptionally beautiful and not very ethnic-looking give me the eye all the time. She worked with her dad at the 24 hour fruit and convenience place. I often thought about a way to get her out of the old man's sight but had a few other reservations and never tried to get her. But I often saw her at 2 or 3 in the morning. I have no idea about her having kids or a marriage or w/e, I just knew she was into me by how she acted. It was NY and everybody is working a shift or travelling to or from somewhere all hours of the night. I still have her on my list of "should haves".

If this sort of friendly touchy approach rarely happens to you by a strange women I can see why you think something's fishy here OP, but nothing ventured nothing gained. Its not like she tried to get you back to her house then + there. Its good to see you are going to follow up on this, and I think its going to turn out fine for you. As daesin said some women are innately touchy, but it is kind of rare to happen with a stranger in a store at midnight, but take it as a sign that she likes you, but I also suspect its along the lines of what musemaj thinks.
