Paroxysm Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 the day after your long-term relationship ends and you still love the person something fierce? When you don't want it to end even though you know it's probably for the best, for you and for them. What are some good ways of not going down the drain, or at least, getting back up it?
snug.bunny Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 I hit rock bottom (not from a "long term" relationship though). It went from feeling like this: To now, much better. But, that "black" period, lasted for a very long time and I kept it pretty hidden. Even though I still interacted with friends, family, I was dead inside. You just have to keep moving.
carhill Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 What are some good ways of not going down the drain, or at least, getting back up it? I found exercise worked well. It facilitated working anger and pain out through physical exertion, released endorphins, and allowed for psychological 'space' to process. It also mitigated the effects of some of the eating binges I embarked upon. If you really loved someone, it'll take awhile to process everything. Try to do one positive thing each day. Good luck.
