quietGuy13 Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Hi guys i'm in my 30s. Basically i talk like a kid and i dont sound or look mature. I look and sound and speak like a cute kid. giggle etc Anyways, this is how i am due to some medical reasons. But i'm wondering, I already know many asian women do accept me and like me but that's because they're usually quiet and in some of those asian countries women are shy/childish even if they're int heir 30s. So i fit in. That's why i've had many asian friends online and in real life. it's easy with them. they seem to accept me. But Western girls are different. Most western girls i've met in real life think i'm weird and odd. ANd they ignore me. I went to popular English chat rooms with people of UK and US and it has been a very bad experience. they all ridicule me and think i'm stupid. How about you? What do you feel? Would you date someone like me? Yeah i'm a bit weird but i stil have a good heart and i'm an adult.. i'm not childish in the sense that i do mischievous things etc... i dont do bad things. I"m childish in my spirit and my speech is not developed like a typical adult.
thatone Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 (edited) speech patterns are learned. you can learn to mimic any sort of speech and behavior. you chose to mimic asian behavior. stop, or date asian girls. pretty simple, really. 'medical reason' is a cop out. my first job in high school was at a radio station. i sounded terrible on the air. my boss recorded it and played it back to me, i was shocked, having never listened to myself before. in a week i was able to speak without an accent and generally be more powerful in how i delivered speech. no one taught me how, i just recorded myself as i worked on it and listened to the results until i got to where i wanted to be. i've lost a bit of that ability over time since i don't actively work on it anymore, but i can still do it if i need to. that was the same time that i first had a woman approach me romantically, also. coincidence? not really. you think robert plant and james keenan and david gilmour and people like that just started doing what they do with their voices by mistake? they worked on it, developing a certain sound with time and effort. I'm sure you're a wonderful person, but I like men. Not men that have the mentality of an 8 year old, but MEN that act their age. Act your age honey, not your shoe size.

I would be unlikely to date someone I can't relate to, no matter what the reason, but if a person has a learning disability and we have lots in common, and that person comes across as mature, then I don't see why I would say no. But if someone's learning disability was severe enough, it might mean our communication was restricted, also I would not want to feel I was their carer, I like things to feel equal. I like to be with someone with equal capabilities as me, although I feel horrible for saying that. But equally would you not like to be with someone with equal capabilities as you so that you relate well to each other?
