Bobby289 Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 So as the dumpee we feel it when it happens, dumpers usually don't until it hits them. My ex and I have been broken up for a month+ but it has only been since NC the I really felt like this was reality. She says she is having a hard time and stressed and she hasen't been able to emotionally deal with it while were still talking(a week ago). She is stubborn and has never been one to show emotions, I know she can hide emotions well as we were together for 2 years. From your experience how long until people like that usually feel it? One of my best friends is the same way, he will go out and put on a happy face then around 2 weeks later he is a wreck. just curious
headsashed Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 I actually felt the break up from the moment she ended it,its been nearly 8 weeks now and ive not really seen many emotions from her, well, only once,it was about a week after we broke up,she cried a few times etc. She is the type of person that buries all her feelings and just goes out with friends hoping they will just go away,i dont know if she will ever feel the full throttle of the break up like i have but i think there will come a time when she sits down and is on herself that these feelings will hit her and by then i will be fully out of the picture living my new life. So in 8 weeks ive seen her emotional once, then again i suppose i havent seen her that often so i dont know if she sits at home crying or anything. Who knows if the dumpers will ever feel anything,i doubt they will tbh.

My ex. dumped me face to face, I was emotional and wondered later why didn't she cry? did she ever? From what I've read they (dumpers) cried, were upset etc. and did their grieving long before they dumped us??? In my case I saw no real change in her a month,, weeks, days up to being dumped,, she never seemed to be sad, upset at all only alittle more distant. I've been in N.C. for almost 3 months now so I don't have a clue how she is/was feeling,, that may also have to do with her getting back with her ex. so she may have been more happy about that than sad/upset from dumping me??? I would assume every dumper is different and so the length of time would depend on their own confidence, self respect, situation for the break up, ect. We may never really know when it his the dumper, because they may not show emotions or change or attempt to come back. As a dumpee I do the same thing as a dumper, I put on my happy confident face and carry on.

The past few weeks ive been putting on my happy face, inside im still hurting loads but no 1 can see that really, its what she does. The other day when i saw her walking the dog she was moody with me and not once did i show any emotions to her,i kept a smile on my face even when she was snapping at me,ill let my emotions out when im alone, ive always wore my heart on my sleeve and its got me nowhere,so its time to do what she does, hide them.
Author Bobby289 Posted November 4, 2011 Author Posted November 4, 2011 Yeah I will not know unless she talks to me about it. I think my situation isn't too bad(from what I know) but yeah every one is different... I swallowed my pride and admitted my faults but it takes two. Who know maybe out of site out of mind.
