Pierre Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Michael Jackson was NOT, I repeat, NOT, a pedophile! If I did believe he was, I would not support him. If evidence came out tomorrow that supported that he was a child molester, I would throw away all of my Michael Jackson books, magazines, cds, DVDs, and vinyl records. He wasn't, however. There is not a shred of proof that states that he was guilty, and in fact, all the evidence points to him being set up...twice. Now, if you want to argue about plastic surgery, drug addiction, and anorexia...you got me there. He had BDD (Body Dismorphic Disorder), which is why he got all that plastic surgery. His drug addiction started when he was severely burned in the Pepsi commercial in the 80's, which led to him battling an addiction to painkillers...and obviously, that addiction killed him. He also didn't eat properly, out of BDD again, which led to his body deteriorating. But he was not a pedophile. He had issues, but those are the only ones. And he was a genuinely creative and gifted individual. How could you like The Beatles and Michael Jackson at the same time?
oaks Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 I think it is odd for folks that cuddle with live animals in bed to criticize a couple of stuffed animals in bed. So much that you've made the point 4 times now. We got it already.
missed_theboat Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 I think it is odd for folks that cuddle with live animals in bed to criticize a couple of stuffed animals in bed. Well, what's the difference between sleeping with a pet animal that you care for and feed and bathe and love than to sleep with your partner? There's lots of crap on his/her body that (if you knew) you'd probably find revolting. I don't think there's any comparison--having a pet is really not a "child-activity", whereas having stuffed animals certainly evokes the sense of childhood and childlike mentality. I don't think people are inherently screwed up if they have stuffed animals, but men--don't you dare think that if you have stuffed animals and a girl comes back to your place, she won't have a huge red flag go up and probably tell her girlfriends about it. On the other hand, if I saw a dude who had a pup lying on his bed, I would be more inclined to say "Aww, cute!"
AHardDaysNight Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 How could you like The Beatles and Michael Jackson at the same time? It's quite easy. I don't care for Paul McCartney, other than a songwriter. His politics and quibbles with MJ never really bothered me, just made Paul look like an ass. Plus, Michael did a great cover of "Come Together." Just as great as the original, I thought. Anne, you don't know what Michael Jackson was like in his "adult relationships." He kept most of that stuff private. He was probably an involuntary celibate, or love shy, now that I know about incel and love shy issues. I wasn't jumping down your throat! I thought you were jumping down mine, by stating that it was sick that I listened to Michael Jackson (because of the allegations.) You were the one who presented the barf smiley, I just reacted to it.
ShannonMI Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Hey, I was a fan when he was as honest to himself as he could have been with that upbringing. I grew up to the Jacksons. I just hate what he became (and that was not all his doing) Talk about a man-child. He's the poster boy for those types of men. I always felt bad for him. He was abused as a child and had no childhood. He was always making up for it in his adult life. And then he died. Poor Michael:(

I thought you were jumping down mine, by stating that it was sick that I listened to Michael Jackson (because of the allegations.) You were the one who presented the barf smiley, I just reacted to it. And if you looked at my post properly I also did a smiley to show no harm, good natured, etc.

Also MJ bought all of the rights to the Beatles music didn't he? Paul was PISSED over that as I recall. They actually stopped being friends because of it.

They were normal men and not sexual deviants like Jacko. If you were a true Beatle fan you would not pay attention to Jacko.
AHardDaysNight Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 And if you looked at my post properly I also did a smiley to show no harm, good natured, etc. I apologize, anne. I just am so used to people saying pedophile, have been hearing it all of my life almost (or at least since I was 12, and those first allegations came out), that I reacted as I normally react. Which is defensively. I didn't know what you meant by the first smiley, since you didn't explain yourself. Admit it, your second post (the one I replied to) could have been misinterpreted in the same way that I misinterpreted it. Talk about a man-child. He's the poster boy for those types of men. I always felt bad for him. He was abused as a child and had no childhood. He was always making up for it in his adult life. And then he died. Poor Michael:( Yeah, I'm pretty sure that Michael Jackson was involuntary celibate, or love shy. Look those terms up on wikipedia, he fits the profile. There is a phone convo out there from 1992, I think, where Michael is lamenting over being a virgin in his 30's and how he has never had a proper relationship and etc. The woman on the other end of the line says, "Yeah, you got to get on that." The next year, he meets Lisa Marie, and gets married. I definitely believe he was madly in love with Lisa Marie, but Lisa Marie never loved him. She was only out for the money or fame. I also believe that he lost his virginity at 33/34 to Lisa Marie.

It is a blasphemy to talk about the Beatles and MJ in the same sentence. MJ was Good pop artist like madonna our lady Gaga, nothing more. Otoh, The Beatles wrote music that will be around forever. To elevate Jackson to the level of The Beatles is a joke.

I always loved him and I will always love him. I was crushed when he died.:(

MJ had the same appeal and had the same HOARDS of screaming fans as The Beatles. Girls crying and passing out. Their music style was completely different, but they are both insanely popular and could be put in the same category. MJ's Thriller is the #1 selling album OF. ALL. TIME. If that doesn't say something, I don't know what does.
AHardDaysNight Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 For the record, John Lennon himself spoke kindly of Michael Jackson before he died. And Paul McCartney and Michael were friends, at least until Paul got his head stuck up his arse when Michael bought the Beatles catalog out from under him. That wasn't Michael's fault, he was making a smart business decision. Paul was the one who ended the friendship. Pierre, I have literally spent years going through court transcripts, Smoking Gun transcripts, hidden voice recorded messages (that are out there, if you want to hear them.) They all point to Michael Jackson being set up by the first accuser's father out of jealousy, and being set up by the second accuser's mother out of the idea of getting a big payoff like with the first accuser. You will not convince me otherwise. But I'm going to let this rest, because this has already gone so far off topic. This is not a thread about Michael Jackson or The Beatles!

Admit it, your second post (the one I replied to) could have been misinterpreted in the same way that I misinterpreted it. I have opinions about his sexuality but I also know that there is a lot of hearsay and gossip so would never say he was this or that. My opinion is that he was a man who was misguided/misled by those who he should have been able to trust. How can one so young cope with so much, achieve so much and then be told they are not good enough. I hate the way he abused his body and tried to deny himself. Re Lisa Marie - I think give her some slack. Her upbringing would have been just as much a **** up as MJs. I also doubt she needed to marry him for money or fame considering her father.
dasein Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 What would people think about a grown man sleeping with stuffed animals that were once alive? Say a taxidermy of a favorite chihuahua, same stigma? I wouldn't mind that so much so long as it was the whole mount and not just a head. What if this man selects women specifically for their psychosexual infantile tendencies? The stuffed animals are a mere trigger mechanism, part of a shrewdly genius manipulation strategy? Is "want to see my stuffed animal collection?" in fact the best pickup line ever devised? After all, some women would say yes just to try to catch him in a lie, they get back to his place and then, "awwwwwww, you were telling the truth... how adorable... c'mere you, I have an animal you can stuff."
AHardDaysNight Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Okay, one last off topic post: Lisa Marie was asking Michael to jump-start her career as a musician/singer/songwriter, because he had his own record label, MJJProductions. Michael kept on putting her off, and they got divorced before she got her foot in the door nearly 7 years later. Say what you will about Lisa Marie's singing ability or talent. I don't believe Michael thought she was that talented, which is why he kept on putting her off. I do believe he loved her as a person, but I also believe she was using him, just because he was a famous musician and had his own record label, as a way to get her music out there. That's why she really married him.
anne1707 Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Ok. Yeah. Whatever. I mean her dad was only Elvis so she had no chance in a musical career ( though I do agree she could not sing, but when does that matter these days). Anyway...... back on topic...... A 40+ year old man with cuddly toys on the bed? So very, very wrong.

They got married for press and attention. The king of Pop marrying The King's daughter. What better union could there be? EVERYONE and their sisters were talking about it. It was a brilliant career move for both of them.

The Beatles changed the world and basically change the culture of that era. Musically speaking they were creative and broke new ground. They played their instruments and were true artists. MJ was a good dancer, performer, and entertainer. No comparison!

Yeah he may not have played his own musical instruments, but that doesn't take away from how talented he was and how he changed the world of music. Like I said, Thriller is the #1 album of all time. That says a lot in my book. And bringing his personal life into this is besides the point. Sexual deviant or not, he was extremely talented.
