Today marks 29 days and counting until the end of my long distance relationship. That's right. After 13 months separated by a continent and an ocean (the big one), a 13 hour time difference, and a costly flight ($1.5k round trip), boyfriend is coming home.

Thanks to you guys - and due to our both possessing an unnatural level of patience - I can say that it was a pleasurable experience. We communicated twice a day on average: once in the morning for about 10 minutes and once at night for about an hour.

Sometimes we just left Skype open for hours on end.

I can honestly say that we didn't have one argument. We had a minor disagreement here and there, but talked it out very quickly and calmly. There was never moment where I lacked trust in monogamy and a great deal of discussion and development on the path our relationship is heading.

We had three nice vacations: two in America, one in Asia. We had a scary moment with the Japanese earthquake.

All in all, I'm looking forward to his coming back home, to the city we both live in and love.

Thank you, everyone. I'll be around, but might be moving my activity away from the LDR forum to other forums. You guys have helped me understand what needs to be done to have a mature, honest, adult relationship that is simply... easy and fulfilling.

That's great news, you must be so happy!

Wishing you two all the best, and I'd like to say I'm not envious, but I am ;)

Let us know how things go :)

I have always cherished your opinion, I wish you only the best and be happy, very, very happy, love each other and show the world that there is still hope :)

I'm so happy for you! :bunny: Enjoy your reunion, it will be one to remember!

That is so wonderful to hear and I wish you both all the best. I haven't been active on here for very long, but I've come to see your opinion as a level-headed and honest one, so thank you for that. It's nice to see that some couples can come out happily on the other end of this distance - I can only hope the same happens for me and my SO. :)

Congratulations! The LDR mountain is a tough one to climb, but the closer it gets to the end, the feeling of accomplishment is amazing. I always think if we can get through the damn distance we can get through anything together.

Sooo true.

Congratulations! LDRs are hard to handle, but you have made it with dignity and trust - two imperative traits for them.

Congratulations! I bet you can't wait! Not long now!!:)
