sunnie23 Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 I have this horrible habit...I even stopped dating for awhile to try and get myself together and break it... It's been more than six months, and here I am, with the same problem. I meet someone, and I dive right in. My feelings become invested and I get hurt easily...For example, I went on a first date with a guy last friday, and he's been sick so we haven't talked since, but I find myself totally distracted by it. I try to involve myself in my own life, but I feel slightly obsessed. (I hardly know him....why do I care???) Any ideas on how i can overcome this?
Becks84 Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 Some people are just this way. I would suggest finding new hobbies or concentrating more on the things you already love to do. Focus on yourself, get to know yourself better and love yourself more -- as cheesy as that sounds. If you can't do these things, then maybe you should talk to a professional about these feelings you have. It obviously isn't healthy and you know it. Best wishes!
LILUIL Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 I agree with Becks. Relationship is just one portion of our life, maybe the bigger portion i think its pretty normal but you do have to be careful not to let your whole world evolve around him.
