Never worried about him cheating although he had a reputation for being a bit of a man whore before we started dating. He went out with some guy friends and butt dialed me. He was talking about this great sex that he had with some random girl he met at a club. This was before we started dating. He claims that's what guys do...It sounded to me like he was reminiscing. Is this something guys do or do you not talk about stuff like that when you are in a serious relationship? I am very put off by it...I feel like there's a whole side of him that I don't know and I don't like it......But he says it was just harmless talk. Thoughts?

You have been dating for SEVERAL YEARS and yet he is talking to a friend about some great sex with a random girl. This just strikes me as wrong. Guys don't reminisce about these types of things the way girls do and they certainly don't share with their guy friends the way we do... If a guy is sharing about a sexual exploit, usually it is something recent and current. Not something they did YEARS ago. Sounds like your BF is cheating.
january2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 I think it really depends on what kind of relationship he has with his friends. Some guys (and women) take part in a lot of sexual banter with their friends. It doesn't necessarily mean anything and could be all talk. Not very nice or respectful talk, especially if you happen to be the girlfriend and hear it, but just talk nonetheless. I suggest that this one incident on its own is not enough of a red flag to be a dealbreaker. But it may be something that needs to be filed away rather than dismissed entirely.
