Author daphne Posted October 30, 2011 Author Posted October 30, 2011 Third date tomorrow. That's great. Maybe you'll have a kiss. I like it when dating feels like high school - when holding someone's hand or kissing brings on fireworks. I was going to say I don't mind waiting on the kiss for another date or 2. But then I realized that if the kiss is really awful, I don't want to get to the point where I like him too much to care. Although I could say the same thing about sex and that ain't happening any time soon.
Author daphne Posted October 30, 2011 Author Posted October 30, 2011 KISS HIM!!! Please!!! Ok Patti. I think it was almost going to happen today but it got awkward. He is a bit shy. I wonder what it's like dating an introvert.

Is he an introvert, or just shy? I don't think they're necessarily one and the same... Bring him out of his shell...

I talked a (female) friend out of bailing on a guy who's a bad kisser a few months ago and she's now blissfully happy.
Author daphne Posted October 30, 2011 Author Posted October 30, 2011 Is he an introvert, or just shy? I don't think they're necessarily one and the same... Bring him out of his shell... Both. He's less shy than introverted tho. We talked about this. I am on the opposite spectrum and can talk to random people I don't know. It's what I do. I'm a gemini. So who is Patti? lol. Patti from Matchmaker Millionnaire. There was an episode where she chides the guy to kiss the girl. She's awesome. Your Task: Kiss him on your date tomorrow. Do not report until mission accomplished Aie aie captain. Not reporting. Just answering questions. You can always teach him how to kiss. I talked a (female) friend out of bailing on a guy who's a bad kisser a few months ago and she's now blissfully happy. True. I just hope I don't have to endure hours of teaching him not to shove his tongue down my throat or lick my face. Although he really doesn't strike me as the type.

Yay, Daphne! This reminds me of how the first couple of dates with my BF went...I was trying to take things more slowly because I had trouble believing it was that good. I did go more slowly than I had with others, but probably still too fast. So I applaud you for approaching this the way you are. Don't try to talk yourself out of crushing, though--that's always so much fun! I think you can indulge in that and still keep a level head because you seem like you have a good one on your shoulders--well, minus the assertion that Patti Stanger is awesome. She's annoying and discriminatory against gays, Jews and women with curly hair.
Cee Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Here's a confession. I'm a mediocre kisser myself and have always been. It has to do with my bone structure, small mouth, and tendency to get a stuffy nose when I'm turned on. Being a mouth breather is a terrible thing in a passionate bout of kissing. I still love kissing though. And my BF has never for a moment indicated that I was anything less than perfect. And that makes it so much easier for me because I am nervous about my kissing technique. If you like the guy, Daphne, and the kissing isn't an A, I wouldn't worry. As long as you get butterflies, it'll work out fine.

She's annoying and discriminatory against gays, Jews and women with curly hair. I don't think I can talk myself fully out of crushing. I do stupid happy things once in a while, that I won't mention here because I sound like a looney tune. It involves goofy smiling. I will note, however, that at some point I'm probably going to get annoyed with his laugh. I already noticed that which hopefully means I'm onto any red flags he could bring too. Sorry you don't dig the Patti. She definitely can be a b****, but seems to have the formula down so well. I didn't think she was discriminatory against gays and Jews. She is Jewish? I couldn't figure out for the life of me how you get a stuffy nose when you're turned on, but it made me giggle. When I laugh too hard, I get the sniffles. Related? Those are the exact same things that my friend complained aboot! Is this a common problem that women run into??? Noooo. Not super common but super gross when you come across it. Ew.

I didn't think she was discriminatory against gays and Jews. She is Jewish? I didn't know she was Jewish, but she made comments on Jewish men and gay men, saying Jewish men lie, and saying gay men are incapable of monogamy. She's also made negative comments about smart women, saying they have to "dumb it down a little because men aren't that bright", and that insults men too. Not to mention her constant bias against curly hair.
Author daphne Posted October 31, 2011 Author Posted October 31, 2011 http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-kiss-someone-passionately Funny stuff. I don't know about the Jewish men thing. I'd just subtract the Jewish and leave it at that. lol. As for gay men, I think my hair dresser would agree with her whole heartedly. He is very blunt about hte nature of men, especially gay men. But yeah, she's a little nazi about hte curly hair thing. Some women just look better with naturally curly hair.
Author daphne Posted October 31, 2011 Author Posted October 31, 2011 Ok so yeah we had the first kiss. While it wasn't the best first kiss of my life, I have something to work with. Plus there's definitely chemistry, which is a very good thing. All of the commonalities in the world don't mean anything without it. We spent a good part of the day together. Our dates are getting longer. We found out that we actually have one major difference today though. We have very different musical tastes. I guess all in all, not a big deal but I did want to tease him when I asked him if his musical tastes included Journey and he said he kinda liked them. I like it that he does little things to make me happy. Even though he's not Southern, I noticed he's opening all of my doors and doing things I'm used to with Southern guys. Puts his hand on the small of my back. Things I like.

oaks Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Ok so yeah we had the first kiss. :bunny: (more characters)

Author daphne Posted October 31, 2011 Author Posted October 31, 2011 :bunny: (more characters) He he. Just so we're all on the same page, I won't be reporting any other "developments", if they occur.

oaks Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 He he. Just so we're all on the same page, I won't be reporting any other "developments", if they occur. But of course. So long as you're having fun and being safe we don't need to know the details.
thatone Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 HAHAHA. That's what I sang to him when he said he liked them. I guess he's a bit more old school in music. old school is better. he will convince you, not the other way around .
Author daphne Posted November 1, 2011 Author Posted November 1, 2011 ZOMG, Daphne is dating Ryan Atwood?!?!? Ok. You are too old to say ZOMG. But of course. So long as you're having fun and being safe we don't need to know the details. If by safe you mean celibate, then YES I AM. he he. old school is better. he will convince you, not the other way around . Mebbe. I will still mock him for it tho. Coincidentally, a gf asked how the first kiss was. I told her that I'm not much into French kissing, and that he was a decent kisser. I just need him to stop the French thing. She went into a diatribe about how they're out if the kiss doesn't knock her socks off. I've only had 2 guys knock my socks off in my life. I would have been one very, lonely, woman. This is also the girl that chases after bad boys and bailed a brand new bf out of jail and is only how getting the thousands of dollars back after 6 months of him not repaying her. He dumped her a month or two after she bailed him out. Don't you love when your dysfunctional friends try to p*** on your parade? I'm wondering how good that kiss had to be for her to put up with that nonsense.
Star Gazer Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 HAHAHA. That's what I sang to him when he said he liked them. I guess he's a bit more old school in music. In my neck of the woods, 18 year olds are going to Journey concerts. Give him a little break... and KISS HIM AGAIN!
