Question... if I had an affair with my boss for four years and ended it because I was getting interested with my current boyfriend, who thinks I should have to leave my current job? Is this something that should be expected of me by my boyfriend (he knows about the affair)?

I have not cheated and my boss is pretty much respectful of the situation. He has *some* hang ups. Chime in here...

i feel he should trust you when you say you will be faithful. As for leaving your job, i feel your bf should not decide that for you. career and work is a personal choice.

Your new boyfriend's thoughts on the matter aren't important--yours are. Is there any way you could transfer to another department? You'd at least be able to stay at the same company while not having to be in direct contact with your ex.

You say that your boss/ex lover has some hang ups. I would be concerned he may use or display any personal anger or resentment towards you in the workplace. He is not legally allowed to do that; on the other hand, a number of companies will take action against employees who are romantically involved or have been so in the past. If you haven't had any problems with your ex yet, stay at your job, but if he starts harassing you, make a complaint against him, but look around for another postition.
