Or ladies, if you have experience either way in giving an engraved gift to a man.

I want to give my boyfriend a niceish (nothing crazy expensive, but not cheap either) watch for a gift.

I would love to engrave it, but part of me feels like that's kind of corny. Plus, I wouldn't want to write anything too sappy... maybe just the date [of our anniversary] or something. Nothing like "To Dave, I love you more than words can possibly express!" I would go for something more subtle/ understated. He is 25, kind of sentimental, and we've been dating for a little over a year.

What do you all think? With or without an engraving? If you think with, any suggestions for what it should say?

thanks!!

i don't think it's corny. shows you put a little extra thought into it, that's a good thing.

Either

"I'm Pregnant!"

or

"Bling for Daddy!"

I agree. I think he would love it. As for what you should put on it, I would go with just his initials for his first, middle and last names (personalization is always nice, and it would be especially handy if he were to ever lose it), or if you want to go a more sentimental route, his and your initials together, with your anniversary date.

Depends on what is being engraved.

Personalizable items likes picture frames, watches, pens, shirts, etc.. should be fine for the sentimental types.

Personalized bedsheets, towels, tile work, carpets, etc... no...

I gave an ex a flask with his nickname engraved on it. Was a pretty cool gift I thought.

I second the thought for his initials.

He's always going to remember that it came from you, and the thought that you took the time to have his intials engraved on it will mean something to him. But you won't have to worry about it being sappy.
