I'm age 31 . have never had friends but rencently i made one and we're going to the movies tonight. Well i live with my parents and they all worried and asking lots of stuff.

and even my mother gets anxious and vommiting when i go out a few hours.

Like last time i went out with the friend and stayed til 7:30 pm and when i came back she was outside the house waiting for me and all anxious.

How do you guys take it when this happens?

What to do to calm them down and tell them not to worry

I don't have parents who are anxious like that and I don't live with them, so I can't offer a solution so I'd just like to say have a good time at the movies! What are you going to see?

would've been a lot easier to give you advice had you posted this months ago.

simple solution: move out, tell your mother she's going to have to deal with her own issues and can't live her life through you anymore, because you're a grown man.

Just reassure them that you're safe, and that the friend is safe and will look out for you.

QG, you have never been adept at social situations, and you have some anxieties yourself about how to conduct relationships and friendships. Your mother is likely very protective of you, and worries about how you will react to situations and how you will be treated by other people.

It might help if your parents met your friend. Has she been by your home yet?

Remind your mother that this is part of adult life, and that she was able to go out and meet people (like your father), and that you are ready to explore the world. She may be anxious, but she will survive it.

Have fun at the movies.

Did you ever see my post about testosterone on your thread about having a high pitched voice?

Where did you make your friend, if you don't mind me asking?

QG usually doesn't post again on his threads. I've noticed that. Not saying you shouldn't post your questions, but you may get frustrated when he doesn't post again or answer questions when people try to give advice. It's usually pointless.

I'm giving him the chance to be a respectful member of this community, though.

I know everything you just said, but I wanted to give him a chance to answer. :)

I'll be shocked if he does:rolleyes: Lucky One has asked him the question about the testosterone in a few of his threads and he has yet to answer her. I would give up if I were her, but she has a lot more patience then I do.;)

And are you getting an "object error" alert when you click on this thread? I do everytime I open it up. It probably has a virus in it:eek: That wouldn't shock me either.

Nope, not on either of my computers.

Try doing a virus scan. It's probably your computer. Sorry. :(

My parents were all anxious and even mad..but they calmed down and at night they were already in their room.. although usually if they sleep they sleep.. but htey werent sleeping. They were up talking, which means they were probably talking about the fact i came back at 9pm(which they consider late) and they think i'm doing bad stuff
