Bobby289 Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 So we all know how you hear a certain song and emotions come rushing back about that certain someone and you have to change the radio/ipod ASAP! What about the songs that help you look forward and optimistic? I'll start out with some of my favorites: The Almost - southern weather" Anthony Green - Dear Child Armor for Sleep - "Dream to Make Believe" album The Beatles - Let it Be Bob Marley - Three Little Birds Boxcar Racer - There is (It's sad but helps) Frank Sinatra - That's Life Iration - Turn Around (Not really about moving on, more about giving your all for a last chance...how I feel most days) John Mayer - "Continuum" album Johnny Cash - It Aint Me Babe Kid Cudi - Pursuit of Happiness Less Than Jake - The Science of Selling Yourself Short (sorta, more for me) Matisyahu - One Day Michael Bublé - Haven't Met You Yet New Found Glory - Boy Crazy (for guys) Oasis - Stop Crying Your Heart Out Pepper - Ashes Rebelution - Bright Side of Life, Too Rude (lol) Sublime - What I Got Taking Back Sunday - Make Damn Sure Three Legged Fox - Maybe I'm Sorry Underoath - I'm Content With Losing The Used - Maybe Memories +44 - No it Isn't
ls32ssibm Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 The song Red Rubber Ball by Cyrkle pretty much sums up my last relationship 99%. What is ironic is the last time I can remember hearing the song (pre-break up) was when I was with my ex on a roadtrip a few months back.

BrettLost Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Anything by Sevendust is very powerful to me. The music is kickass , but the lyrics and Lajon's voice evoke real emotions. The best/worst thing about music, is it can take your memory to an exact moment in your history within a milisecond upon hearing it.

Grinder88 Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Im ashamed to admit this but Beyonce-best i never had Some others less shameful David Nail- Red light Slipknot - snuff http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJXEerT4TCk FFDP - White knuckles (caution this is loud) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3ouX_mM23o FFDP - Meet the monster http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVfafSxb0qo&feature=related
Doona Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 I cant listen to any of my music at the moment, makes me feel so anxious, so I just listen to the radio instead.
Thieves Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Whaaat? Did I see some Beatles, some Sinatra, Oasis, and even Mister Johnny Cash in that list, OP? Veddy nice, indeed. And, oh geez. Armor for Sleep, Underoath... The Used. Bringing back some old memories here. Anyway. But yes, music is extremely therapeutic. I wouldn't be nearly as healed as I am if I didn't have headphones stuck in my ears half the damn time. Some music that always makes me feel pretty optimistic lately: Red Hot Chili Peppers - "Did I Let You Know" (Just pure feel good music for me.) Noah and the Whale - "Blue Skies" (This one always lifts me up, no matter what else is going on.) Incubus - "The Warmth" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4XQMEMQE94 (Helps me to not become so bitter, and reminds me that not every man out there is complete sh*t.) Neil Young - "Heart of Gold" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlFNA4EfexQ (Symbolizes my journey of trying to heal.)

funnyface Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 music has been a HUGE part of my healing!!! here are some of my (mostly very girly) favorites. Jar of Hearts - Christina Perri sad, yet empowering at the same time. it is pretty much my ultimate theme song for my ex. Irreplaceable - Beyonce awesome for remembering that you will find someone better! Fighter - Christina Aguilera for screaming/singing in the car when you remember what scum your ex bf was and how much better off you are. Gives You Hell - All American Rejects for girls or for guys... another one thats great for screaming along to in your car. And some Alanis Morrissette... which is just plain classic.
