eerie_reverie Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 (edited) Guys... which girl would you find more attractive? 1. Average-sized but muscular. Works out a lot, eats enough (healthy food) not to be thin 2. Thin girl who neither eats nor moves Are muscles sexy on women? Edited October 22, 2011 by eerie_reverie
Alexz Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 *shrug* Everything in moderation? Moves, has normal amount of muscle, and normally slender? Just as I am.
thatone Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 Are muscles sexy on women? to me, no. any visible defined muscle i'm somewhat turned off by to very turned off by depending on the details. but there are preferences the other way. hell, some men pay to watch female bodybuilders.
Imajerk17 Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 (edited) What, are you having an "ugly" day or something? I thought you had a boyfriend... (Yes, insecurity is a turn-off...) I prefer (a). I prefer a curvy athletic build. Muscles are sexy on a woman as long as she doesn't look "cut" as a female bodybuilder does. But functional physical strength, and the looks that go with it, is quite physically attractive. Edited October 22, 2011 by Imajerk17
Author eerie_reverie Posted October 22, 2011 Author Posted October 22, 2011 What, are you having an "ugly" day or something? I thought you had a boyfriend... (Yes, insecurity is a turn-off...) Nah, I was just wondering. I know there are gguys for both categories.
Star Gazer Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 I'm gonna go out on a (pretty strong) limb here and say most guys probably want a curvy yet athletic woman. I don't know a single guy who'd kick Jessica Biel's body out of bed.
Feelin Frisky Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 If I had to pick one I'd go with the first option although I don't particulalry like a muscular female. I prefer a decent one who is loyal. I can overlook a lot for that.
Stockalone Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Guys... which girl would you find more attractive? 1. Average-sized but muscular. Works out a lot, eats enough (healthy food) not to be thin 2. Thin girl who neither eats nor moves Neither is what I am into, so it would really depend on the women in question and how muscular (or thin) they are. Are muscles sexy on women? No. I'm gonna go out on a (pretty strong) limb here and say most guys probably want a curvy yet athletic woman. I don't know a single guy who'd kick Jessica Biel's body out of bed. Jessica Biel is already too muscular for my taste.

OP, you are obviously looking for external self-validation. Luckily, most of the posters are not encouraging. Maybe you will learn that attraction is subjective. What's the point of this thread anyways? It's not like you are going to change yourself based on this thread (hopefully!) Although if you are the thin girl who neither eats nor moves you might eventually develop bedsores and die of starvation, so I would recommend choking down some food .

FitChick Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 What's the point of this thread anyways? What's the point of umpteen other similar threads posted by males and females. As if there is ONE look, ONE way to act, ONE whatever. Everyone is different so everyone wants something different. Be the best YOU you can be. Stop whining.
Author eerie_reverie Posted October 23, 2011 Author Posted October 23, 2011 What's the point of umpteen other similar threads posted by males and females. As if there is ONE look, ONE way to act, ONE whatever. Everyone is different so everyone wants something different. Be the best YOU you can be. Stop whining. Is this aimed at me? I actually enjoy those pointless threads and thought this was a good spin on an old topic. I already know men prefer both types, I just wanna hear y'all bicker. So which is more important in terms of attraction? Fitness level or aesthetics?
Star Gazer Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Jessica Biel is already too muscular for my taste. If you find her body too muscular, I'm curious what you DO find attractive? Someone with absolutely NO tone??
carhill Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 OP, as long as there's not veins popping out, a deep voice, and an adam's apple, I think muscles on a woman are fine. I happened to have been raised by a farm girl who could heft wheelbarrows, swing an axe and probably beat me in arm-wrestling until I was a teenager. Strength doesn't have to be masculine. I will admit that today's workout and dietary styles tend to promote definition more, hence the body builder look and popping veins. I recall saying to one of my exW's female friends, who had a lovely shape, when she started talking about 'going back to the gym to build some muscle'.... 'why, so you can look like a man?' I had seen her before like that, with the body builder look and popping veins and she did look mannish. One of my rare un-politically correct moments. Since I like to cook and like to eat, I couldn't live with a woman who didn't eat; since I like projects and travel and exercise (for fun, not 'working out'), I couldn't live with a woman who didn't move. The upside might be the toilet wouldn't get used as much, so less cleaning.

Everyone is different so everyone wants something different. Be the best YOU you can be. Stop whining. True, but they are okay every now and then in different variations. ER - I reckon you will probably get 50:50 response from guys. I'm a thin frame guy who works out at the gym regulary and I am instinctively attracted to thin build women, but at the same time I also really love 'Fitness and figure competition' women and up to a point even 'natural' female body builders. For me muscles are sexy on women...up to a point. The curves still need to be there and the muscles defined but not overly developed so that they rival a man's. Pretty much all the women on this page have killer physiques that I would take over an Ellen Page type girl any day of the week. http://forums.phishhook.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=841148 I dont know if the women here would consider these women average-sized though, when viewed from the perspective of the typical 30 yr old woman walking the streets in the US. I've found a lot of women avoid the weights at the gym because they say 'ooh I dont want to get muscely', but it takes a lot of intense work & diet & supplementation to get figures like these. Hardly any women work with the free weights at my gym and the women I have trained with had endomorph builds, and wanted to shape their physiques so they were less stocky. I'm curious what do you think the avg 30 yld old guy prefers and which is you?
somedude81 Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Muscle is sexy on a woman, to a point. This is pretty much the limit. Any more and it starts to be unattractive.
Author eerie_reverie Posted October 23, 2011 Author Posted October 23, 2011 Muscle is sexy on a woman, to a point. This is pretty much the limit. Any more and it starts to be unattractive. Lol I would not even consider that chick muscular.
carhill Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 This is what I was alluding to earlier. It's just too masculine for my taste.
Author eerie_reverie Posted October 23, 2011 Author Posted October 23, 2011 This is what I was alluding to earlier. It's just too masculine for my taste. Yah... she is ripped beyond what I'd imagine most guys find attractive.
somedude81 Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Lol I would not even consider that chick muscular. Look at her stomach. It's very fit but not to the point of having visibly defined abs. She isn't flexing but I'm sure her arms are toned. That's pretty much the limit of muscle on women for me. And no, it's definitely not flabby or out of shape.
carhill Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Yah... she is ripped beyond what I'd imagine most guys find attractive. Britt's competed in national middleweight and light heavyweight classes, so she's ripped for a reason, and no doubt a beautiful woman, but just too much for this guy. My exW's best friend whom I spoke of prior was leaner but just as defined, and also olive skinned and quite beautiful. I could feel my response to her presence change when she was 'on' the program. Off it, she affected me as any attractive woman might. Interesting stuff.

Works out a lot, eats enough (healthy food) not to be thin 2. Thin girl who neither eats nor moves Are muscles sexy on women? I bet you are #1 aren't you? I can tell by the way you described #2. I notice the thin women described never start these threads.
ascendotum Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 This is what I was alluding to earlier. It's just too masculine for my taste. Yeah thats stepped over the mark for me. She has a great figure and she's pretty but her lats, hands and forearms just make her too masculine for my liking. imo its easier for an ectomorph build woman to muscle up and still retain her femininity because of her smaller frame than it is for naturally thick set woman. I remember seeing pictures of Madonna when she used to do intense workouts and her arms were veiny + sinewey, and it was not a good look. When the body fat level drops too low it becomes a turnoff (for both sexes). At the same time though I did love Linda Hamilton in T2. http://celebrityfitnesstraining.com/female-celebrity-workouts/linda-hamilton-terminator-2/ Carhill would she have been too masculine for you?
Star Gazer Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Muscle is sexy on a woman, to a point. This is pretty much the limit. Any more and it starts to be unattractive. That girl isn't muscular at all. In fact, she's bordering on skinny fat. She's soft.
