Blackened Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 So, I had plans to see a guy I really like tonight. We hung out last Saturday too, but I got mandated at last minute to work Sunday, so I didn't get to stay late and had to leave when the night was still young. He understood and all. He walked me home even. We made plans to hang out again tonight... But I remembered there is something else going on tonight that I can't get out of. I sent him a message on facebook as soon as I remembered. He has a prepaid cell that is out of minutes right now. That's why I contacted him on FB. He didn't reply. The next day I still didn't get a reply from him, so I started to wonder if he was pissed off at me. He normally replies pretty quick. So, yesterday evening he started texting me... He actually borrowed someone else's phone to text me. The conversation went like this: "Hey, this is *****, did you try texting me earlier" Me, "No, but I messaged you on facebook." Him "What's up? I haven't been able to get on fb the last couple days." Me "I can't come over tomorrow night. Sorry... I have something else going on that I can't get out of. I was looking forward to it it, :(" Me again, "I have to work again all weekend anyway... so I would have had to leave early." Him, "That's ok, I don't know what I'm doing tomorrow night anyway." Me, "Well, have a good time no matter what you do." Him "I always try, lol." Me, "Hell yea, ttyl." Ok so now to my question... I think he might be upset that I am not able to see him tonight and he is trying to act like he isn't. When he said he doesn't know what he's doing tonight anyway, it kinda sounds like he's just trying to play it off like no big deal but it really is. Idk... what do you all think?
Nexus One Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 I think you have nothing to worry about. He's perhaps a bit disappointed about not being able to meet, but there are no hard feelings.

I think you are over-anylzing this. He sounds like he's fine with it. Why do you think he's upset and pretending like he's not? I didn't get that vibe at all. Next time you are available, text or call him and make plans. See what he says. If he blows you off then you'll know that he might have been upset with you.
Fondue Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 You are over analyzing. Your text conversation had no hint of being upset.
Leegh Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 It's possible that he thought you weren't interested in him, and that you were politely making an excuse. If you haven't heard anything from him after a few weeks or so, you could text him and suggest getting together. It sounds as if he definitely likes you, so the ball may be in your court now to reassure him that you are indeed interested.

YOU should make the first move though for sure. If he rejects your offer, then he's most likely hurt and or/not interested anymore.
Author Blackened Posted October 22, 2011 Author Posted October 22, 2011 You guys wanna know something ironic... I canceled my date tonight for nothing I guess. The thing that was going on tonight was just canceled. Now I'm just bummed out.
cdm369 Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Just wondering if you told him what the THING was. If you said a thing then he may have felt put off. Being vague may have given him the impression you were trying to get out of the date.
