DMondes Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Hello, my wife and I got married in New Hampshire about 5 years ago but we now live in North Carolina, I just found out that she has been cheating on me and there is nothing I can do but to file for divorce. I would like to know which forms I need to fill out for the NH or NC forms?.. any help is greatly appreciate it..
marqueemoon4 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Lawyer up quick. No one on this forum is qualified to give out legal advice. Sorry you are going through this.
carhill Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Check the residency requirements of your jurisdiction. I believe it's six months in NC. Check the relevant 'criminal conversation' and 'alienation of affection' statutes for some leverage in righting the wrongs of her cheating and perhaps recovering financial losses from such acts. Actual and compensatory damages are possible. A lawyer will be your best source of advice. Welcome to LS
reboot Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 You file for divorce in the state you're a legal resident of. But contact an attorney.
