USMCHokie Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 So I decided to stop p*ssyfooting around and asked the girl I like from work to get dinner with me tomorrow night...she said yes... Now my only concern is if she could construe it as anything other than a date...could she...?

Cracker Jack Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 That's awesome. So, I guess what turned you off about her wasn't really a big deal? Regardless, that's good to hear. I have a feeling she's aware that this is a date.

I have a feeling she's aware that this is a date. Yea, after spending time with her during that weekend trip with our friend and interacting with her on a daily basis, I realized she's the real deal...it makes what I didn't like seem like nothing... And it was a bit of my fear and insecurity trying to rationalize not trying...

jennifer4 Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Relax and have fun. Glad you took the initiative. Be yourself and go with it. Easier said than done, but you'll have fun. You already know her and like her, cant wait to hear about your date!

cerridwen Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 You should let us pick out your outfit. Our taste is impeccable.
carhill Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Who cares what she construes it as? Certainly not you. For you, it's a date. Own that. Breathe it. Taste it. She will be a slave to your hard body and rapier wit
Feelin Frisky Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Charm the pants off her. Don't wuss out. Be assertive but not aggressive. Report back. Hua?
Author USMCHokie Posted October 20, 2011 Author Posted October 20, 2011 There you go!! Now remember to have fun, relax, and give your insecurities the "launch." It's actually spelled with all caps... LAUNCH. You should let us pick out your outfit. Our taste is impeccable. Hah, I'm certainly open to ideas...

Author USMCHokie Posted October 20, 2011 Author Posted October 20, 2011 Have a great time.... No pressure Nice. Good luck and have fun man! Nice to hear...... Thanks, gents.

She will be a slave to your hard body and rapier wit Hahah. You're right...let her tell me it's not a date...it'd be like rejecting myself before it even starts... I just don't really know how to approach a date with someone you're already friends with...is it any different from meeting someone for the first time...?
Cee Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 You should let us pick out your outfit. Our taste is impeccable. And be sure to consult the LS hive mind during your date. Drop your napkin and shoot a quick post under the table. Srsly, have a great time.
ptp Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 So I decided to stop p*ssyfooting around and asked the girl I like from work to get dinner with me tomorrow night...she said yes... Now my only concern is if she could construe it as anything other than a date...could she...? Congrats. I have no advice, but I can tell you what seems to work for me. I go in the mentality that she already wants to sleep with me. That attitude plus a little bit of alcohol makes the flirting part way easier for me.
Author USMCHokie Posted October 20, 2011 Author Posted October 20, 2011 And be sure to consult the LS hive mind during your date. Drop your napkin and shoot a quick post under the table. Srsly, have a great time. Hah, or perhaps a live action streaming feed...
cerridwen Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 (edited) Please wear this. And keep it in focus. Edited October 20, 2011 by cerridwen
jerbear Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Hah, or perhaps a live action streaming feed... NSFW if she is wearing a skirt. Ohh!!! that is the REAL reason why you keep dropping napkins, utensils, your phone, the menu, and your credit card. It's actually spelled with all caps... LAUNCH. Everyone is a critic. :lmao: Drop your napkin and shoot a quick post under the table. It wouldn't be "gentlemanly" of him if his date was wearing a skirt. You've gave him a reason to drop stuff to shoot a quick post and maybe get a NSFW view. :lmao:

And it was a bit of my fear and insecurity trying to rationalize not trying... It's funny, because I sorta had a feeling you were trying to find a reason to not pursue her anymore. Nevertheless, I'm glad you were able to spend time with her and gain a better understanding of her. All you have to do is relax and have fun. Don't overthink things and you'll be good. Rooting for you as usual, bro.

I know I'm probably overthinking this as usual, but I'm starting to get that sinking feeling that I had already been friendzoned long ago...but whatevs, I'll make sure to have a good time either way.
