A few months ago I met a great girl at a bar in my city. Turns out she lives around 8 hours away and is in the process of moving to my city for work. Initially we were talking on facebook then about a month ago she was here visiting family and we went out a few times. Since then we've been talking on the phone every couple of days. She is going to be back in town this weekend and it happens to be her birthday. We will be going out on technically our 3rd date but it seems like we know each other better than that based on the amount of communication in the last month and how the other two dates went. We haven't had any exclusive talk or anything but my read is it's going in that direction.

My question is should I be doing something more than taking her out for a nice dinner/date? Flowers? A small gift?

Thanks.

Flowers would be nice. You haven't known her long enough for gift giving, imo, but flowers would show you wanted to do something special to acknowledge her bd.

Isn't flowers essentially a small gift?

 I thought so too. I guess its a more of a "hey, I want to be taken romantically" kind of gift? :bunny:

Any more suggestions? Right now I'm leaning towards doing a nice dinner/date but I'm still undecided on flowers or no flowers.

Flowers would be good. Have them sent to her address. Do you know where she's staying. Also, if you don't want to do roses, has she mentioned any favorite flowers or colors?
