whichwayisup Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Any reason(s) for it? Have you experienced this and if so, how long did it last, did you find out why you had pain and what it was? For about 3 - 4 days I've had some pain on and off.
Feelin Frisky Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Seriously, see a doctor about that. There's no reason for eye-ball pain normally. It's too serious a thing to wait around on because of potential damage to nerves from pressure.
Author whichwayisup Posted October 22, 2011 Author Posted October 22, 2011 I am going to talk to my Dr and get a referral to the eye Dr. Though Im pretty sure this was migraine related and also I was feeling run down, had a sore throat. Doesn't hurt anymore. Thanks FF. I owe you a PM!
AHardDaysNight Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 It could be stress related. You also could have gotten the eye scratched, or infected, or both. In which case, a trip to the doc or the ER is in order. I can relate. Whenever I have severe panic attacks, my eyes get bloodshot and hurt.
Feelin Frisky Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 I've NEVER had eyeball pain. I've had sinus pain, eye strain which involves the muscles of the eyes and even pain behind the eye (which I think was sinus related), but the eye itself shouldn't hurt. Things to be concerned about are glaucoma--pressure inside the eye--and tumors. There may be others but thankfully I have no experience-related knowledge of them.
carhill Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Glad to read it resolved. My prior eye pain episodes were caused by keratoconus, conjunctivitus, and foreign object damage. I do get checked for glaucoma (high intraocular pressure) because my father had it but he told me he never experienced pain from it. The only recurring issue is from the keratoconus due to the irregular shape of the cornea being irritated by debris and blinking. You'd know long before the pain from blurry vision in that eye. It was probably related to the migraine but, if you don't have vision issues and don't normally get your eyes checked for years, it might be worth an update visit to see.
notsoleet Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Maybe your vision is getting worse and you are straining your eyes more? It also depends on the location of the pain. Sometimes, I get tension headaches right behind the eyes when I use my eyes for too long. It's probably fine unless you start seeing a ton of floaters, meaning it's time to get your retina reattached.
