Lobouspo Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 We have seen alot of threads on LS about age disparity in relationships/dating. Im curious whether you think an individual's place in life trumps age disparity in terms of compatibility. For example im 37 never been married no kids. Alot of the women around my age i have dated have kids and work. Different place in life, different priorities which can cause friction. Would i have more in common with a woman 10 ,11,12 years younger than myself who has never married and has no kids? I would like to hear people's thoughts and experiences regarding this
SingleinSouth Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 I don't know, I had a daughter early (she is 17 now) and I thought I would never date a guy with no kids...but I am right now. I would say not to eliminate any legal age group, lol, but realize that there could very well be issues associated with a 20 something vs. the issues normally associated with a partner of your own age or older. Every age group generally has it's certain issues. I've had a long term relationship with a guy 6 years younger than I am and it wasn't a big deal at all. I've had dates with guys much younger and it WAS a big deal, actually. It's really more about the person than anything else so try it out and see for yourself.
