socialresearcher Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Hello, We are conducting a survey to see how people involve their friends in online dating. The surveymonkey survey can be found here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/PPRQKFZ Some of you might want to discuss more publicly, so we've included some of the questions we are asking here: Do you discuss your dates with your friends? Do you ask your friends for dating-related advice? Do you find your friends’ dating advice helpful? What type of dating advice do you usually seek from your friends? Have you ever used an online dating website? Did/Do you ask your friends for advice/opinion about your online dates? Would you say your overall online dating experience is/was: Why, in your opinion, was your previous online dating experience successful? What are, in your opinion, the problems with the current dating sites: What improvements/changes would you like to see in online dating websites?

Author socialresearcher Posted October 18, 2011 Author Posted October 18, 2011 Who is "we"? Is it an academic study? Or for a commercial objective? We have been monitoring the forums on Loveshack and elsewhere and want to create a new online dating site that meets the needs of people who are dissatisfied with the current fora of dating sites, so yes, it has a commercial objective potentially. That said, the objective is to create something that addresses many of the needs and issues expressed on the Loveshack forums and elsewhere. Initially the focus has been on the role of friends in dating, and creating more of a community within dating rather than a very anonymous experience. We believe dating sites are still very early in their evolution and the experience has much room to mature. We are also interested to discuss these ideas with the community on these public forums. Do you think there is any other fundamental shifts required in the current crop of dating sites?
