I've read that we are romantically attracted to people that remind us of our parents, or primary caretakers while growing up; even though we may not realize it on a conscious level. Why is it that an individual may be highly attracted to one person, and not to another person who may equally good-looking? Any thoughts on this subject?

People try to work out their mommy and daddy issues but with a different, happier ending. Never works.

I like my father's general type -- tall, slim, fit with a full head of hair. He was also very handsome but I prefer plainer faced men. He was blonde and I don't like blonde men.

Some men subconsciouslly look for a "mother" figure and vise versa with women. Has to do with the relationship or lack thereof with said parents. Most women who lose their virginity very young usually either had no father figure in their lives or a bad relationship with their father. I am attracted to many different types of women but I do realize that I am really attracted to women with the same facial structure as my mother. No it does not mean I am attracted to my mother because I am not and I could not and never will marry a woman like my mother (all respect to her).
