We went from FWB to something else and now I'm wondering when he's going to call

I started something with a guy about 6 months ago. Totally casual. We text every few weeks and I've been on about seven dates with him. Unfortunately, he moved to a different state but he still comes back for work about every three weeks.

The last time he came to visit he took me to meet his friends and we ended up discussing our feelings for each other. It's very clear that he likes me. I like to take things slow but in my girl mind I am totally fantasizing about us being a couple!

So, we saw each other 10 days ago. We had a nice romantic goodbye. But I haven't heard anything. Is he waiting for me to contact him? I have initiated most of our contact and he always responds right away. I don't know when he's coming back.

I'm thinking he's either waiting for me because he doesn't want to put himself out there or it's out of sight out of mind. Is it a bad idea to text him or should I give myself space and play it cool?

I believe she is still a FWB to him and those women men usually call sporadically. I bet that when the guy is with OP he is lovey dovey, but once she is out of sight he does not think about her on a daily basis.
