She was my first girlfriend. This was my first relationship. It lasted 2 and 1/2 years.

Is it normal to still feel the effects of the break-up 4 months after?

Posted

Completely normal.

My ex was my first official girlfriend, 3.5 year relationship, first love, and we shared our virginity with each other. I'm 6 months on from the breakup and I still get those rough days where I wish the breakup never happened and we were still together. That's not saying I would take her back because I wouldn't. Just, sometimes I wish the breakup never happened.

Chin up, it takes everyone a different amount of time to heal and everyone has different coping strategies. You will heal with no contact and disciplining yourself. Learn to develop your boundaries and stick to them strictly, it is what I have learned so far and I feel that I am almost to the point where I would be able to have a new relationship with a new person.
