I wanted him back for a long time but I have been moving on well for many months and am dating. So why would I agree to see him? I care about him and cared. I loved (past tense) him. So maybe there are some feelings, yet I'm smart enough to know that nothing has changed and he is who he is. He is not the man I want for my future because he does not want the future I want and he does not respect me and adore me. In fact he does not value me. I want respect. OK well what would anyone here do? Meet or not?

I know many on here who are probably wishing they had an ounce of your strength and courage. You thought before acting, and gave solid reasons why it would not be a good idea to go meet him. To put it simply, you've made so much progress since then that to even risk it by meeting him would possibly destroy it. And is it truly worth it? Probably not. So yes, you did wonderfully. I applaud you.
