Im not sure if this has been discussed yet, so forgive me if that may be... But, I consider you fellow LoveShackers to be an intellectual and interesting group, so Im curious as to people's stance on Mexico City's plan to create an optional 2 year marriage "clause"

Now, it merely is nothing more than a prenuptial, as far as Ive read... but the fact that there is a definitive shelf live to 'opt out' of these marriages, doesnt really sit well with me...

I think that discussing what may be, if a couple cant work things out (especially if there is children involved) is a reasonable and perhaps necessary conversation... but to draw up a contract? Where's the love?

Im not religious per say, but to me, marriage means for better or for worse... not for better, or 25 months.

Mexico is 91% Catholic, and the Catholic Church is very negative about divorce. So I think the proposal is simply a reaction to difficult divorce laws in Mexico and of little relevance to the United States where divorce is much easier.
