Taramere Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Zumba is coming along nicely ...I am starting to get the choreography down and feeling more fluidity with the movements. :bunny: I'm really enjoying the classes and they get easier as far as not overexerting myself but instead learning to pace myself so that I can maximize its effectiveness. I've only lost three pounds though since , but I only want to lose about 5 more. That stinks all the classes are booked by you. Boo! I know they have DVD's you can do at home, but doing it in a class setting is really a lot more fun and..inspirational! I hope something opens up for you soon...Let me know how it goes!! I managed to book onto a class for next week. Just have to be really quick off the mark. Separate to the zumba, I had a new gym programme set up. It starts off with a fairly brief session on the cross-trainer, then there's some weight lifting reps (is that the right terminology? This stuff goes in one ear and out the other when I'm in the gym). Only 2 kilos. I have to lie on one of those plastic balls lifting weights, which the instructor promised me will speed up the calorie burning process for hours afterwards. We'll see. Work took over completely for the latter part of today and I could feel myself burning more nervous energy than I've burned in a while. Work seems to keep me thinner than working out in the gym...and it certainly pays better, so I'm going to keep my fingers crossed for more of that! Zumba must feel a lot more fun when the movements are coming together. Years ago I used to do the Cher "hot dance workout" which I enjoyed....but zumba is a lot more energetic than that, I think. Another thing I used to do a lot, which I'm going to start doing again, is callanetics. Have you ever tried those?

Also, I do not know where you reside, but there is a website called Groupon and I just found a great deal on Zumba classes ($25 for 20 classes through a seperate fitness center chain versus the one I am currently going to). So, may be worth looking into if it's available where you are. Your new gym program sounds exciting Those bouncy exercise balls!!! Yes, aside from the fitness benefits, they're helpful with improving balance/coordination. Soon you'll be able to lift weights while walking down a balance beam I haven't seen the "Cher video", I do remember the "Cindy Crawford" fitness videos which I used to do, heehee. I definitly need to purchase some new sneakers, my knees seem to hurt the most from the past two classes. Our instructor threw in a few new moves and I was scrambling to get the feet movements down, she was going so fast and I kept tripping over my feet. I'll be working with a new instructor this weekend, since I found that deal on Groupon, so must get better shoes!! Fingers crossed for you at work and your new gym routine. :) PS> Here is another inspiration to get you in the mood (wink wink): Edited November 2, 2011 by snug.bunny

Taramere Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Miss Tara........Did you end up going? I'm ashamed to say only the once, sb. I have been going to the gym though (and generally being more productive as I've hardly looked at LS!). Given how fab and glowing you look in your avatar, perhaps I'll try it again. It's obviously good for you!
