MiaColletus Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 why do people love eachother....what are the general opinions out there on what love is? Or rather, what is love to you and what makes you love a person... is it based on them as people, how they treat you, or both?
Nexus One Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 (edited) One theory I got is that people can develop a subconscious desire to be one with someone else. When that happens, and of course you on a subconscious level realize unification can't be done, then that pain that you feel is love. That's possibly why people say "I love you so much it hurts". Love could be that pain of the sense of separation. The thing is, during sex people do try to become one, at least physically. And it's that very act that spawns new consciousness. Jynxx Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Hate to break it to you, but it's basically your subconsciousness dangling a carrot in front of you guiding you to what it calculated to be the most successfull reproductive strategy.
AHardDaysNight Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Love is real. I've felt it before. However, sexual attraction messes with love, and can either make you very happy, or make you miserable.
