Mark1 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Me and a girl have been talking about getting lunch/dinner for a few weeks now. I texted her today saying, "hey I was going to go to X for lunch, would you like to join me?" She replied, "Hey! Who else is going?" WTF? Does she WANT more people to go, or does she NOT want more people to go? What should I say back?
Feelin Frisky Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 She's telling you she's not that into you. Sorry. Answer: never mind.
Author Mark1 Posted October 5, 2011 Author Posted October 5, 2011 She's telling you she's not that into you. Sorry. This is what I suspected, thanks for being honest. Should I not even reply, or tell her it was just meant as friends?
laotzu Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Reply and tell her anyone she wants to invite, and see if she wants to invite people. It's more subtle than it seems: if she was expecting a crowd, it's normal, and if she doesn't want one, she might not care to invite anyone.
Feelin Frisky Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 This is what I suspected, thanks for being honest. Should I not even reply, or tell her it was just meant as friends? Tell her "no one else is going, just me". I'm not one for closing myself out of an opportunity if there is something even slightly there. See what she says. Just don't put her on the spot with too much emotionality about anything.
Author Mark1 Posted October 5, 2011 Author Posted October 5, 2011 Does not replying make me look like an idiot?
Dust Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 I would be more positive and not just assume its because she doesn’t like you. Just answer with a joke “So are you coming t lunch, just you me and Michael J. Fox”
Feelin Frisky Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Does not replying make me look like an idiot? Somewhat. Don't you want some certainty in this?
Pasttense Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 What about your previous experiences together? Has it always just been the two of you or have you been together as part of a group? (I am guessing it has sometimes been as part of a group--so she is simply asking which it will be this time).
