Almond_Joy Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Hi everyone, I've been on two dates with a guy I really like over the last two weeks. The dates have been mostly conversational and really great. Usually, by the second date, the guy I'm dating says he wants a relationship. I consent, and that's it - I'm in a long-term relationship. But this time, I don't want to be in a LTR right now and neither does he. The next time we go out will be the third date, and now every time I think about him I get nervous. I feel awkward talking to him now. I don't know what the next step is....or rather, how to keep dating, because I've never gone on more than 2 dates with a guy without escalating the status of the interest to the relationship zone. I know this sounds stupid, but.....how do you keep dating? Do you just keep doing fun stuff together? We talked about family, career goals, relationship goals, spiritual philosophies, interests/hobbies, places we've traveled....a few other things I'm probably forgetting.....fit go-kart racing and a couple movies in the dates too. I'm drawing a blank on what else to talk to him/ask him about, and I'm not totally comfortable with prolonged silences with him yet.....so I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to interact with him now. Any opinions or suggestions are most welcome....
Pasttense Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 The current news? Was Amanda Knox (American women charged with killing roomate in Italy) guilty? Politics...Who do you support for President? Is the economy going back into recession? Talk about movies, TV shows, favorite actors/actresses... Favorites sports teams... All the kind of idle chitchat you talk about with friends, relatives...
