Do nice guys finish last? Are there people out there that would date me? My rant....

I am a 21 year (turning 22 10/26) old senior in college. I'm graduating a semester early to intern at a big 4 accounting firm in NYC. I've been in two 2 year relationships and that's it. The most recent one ended in early August. She was everything I was looking for. I'm not a nerd but I do prefer to enjoy a dinner and movie with a girl rather than going out to the bars/clubs etc. I'm grown out of the bar scene. Once in a while going with her would be nice but I enjoy the companionship of a relationship the most. I'm not a fan of sex of the random and casual variety. It doesn't take a lot to make me happy and I get happy when I make other people happy whether it's helping them or getting them gifts. I would be perfectly happy in life if I had fantasy football, a girlfriend, friends and family. I don't like getting girls flowers often because I'd rather save up all that money and get Tiffany's instead. I have no desire to be filthy rich in life. I just want to live comfortably. I am starting out a $27 an hour as an intern and will make $60k full time if I get the job. People in my field can expect $150k salary in 5 years. Making $250k before 35 and maxing out at $300k a year for life would make me the luckiest man on the planet. I would prefer a girl that looks healthy, is trustworthy and doesn't smoke who is in it for the long term. On a scale of 1-10 with 6 being above average I'm a 6 and the last girl I dated was a 7.75. I really put her on a pedestal and neglected myself and regret it now. I'm a big fan of The Game by Neil Strauss as a confidence boost book but by no means do I want to become a pickup artist.

 

 

With that said, am I a wuss for being a guy and preferring relationships and wanting to settle down to raise a family? Are there girls out there that actually nice guys? It seems like girls say they want certain qualities in a guy for a relationship but date the complete opposite... Sorry if this post didn't make much sense. I'm on shrooms JK LOL. I just had a long day at class today and sharing my feelings with strangers on LS makes me happy

Of course, there are girls who would want a nice guy like you. You can count me in that group as well. I'm the same way. I'm not big into going to bars and definitely prefer to be in a comfortable relationship. Probably why I'm so slow to get out of relationships even when things start to turn bad. I just want someone to cuddle with at night and be there to unwind with after I get off work. Someone to share my hobbies with (they don't have to like it as much as I do lol) but also would share their hobbies with me, some of the most fun times I've had were things I would never think to do except that someone was into it and brought me along.

 

I think that's all anyone wants is someone to be happy with and enjoy each other. I always wonder why it's so hard to find, when all anyone really wants is to be happy.

Bro, with the amount of money you'll be making you'll be fighting off the diggers. So don't stress it. Now, let me tell you something I've learned first hand.

 

I used to think that being a minimalist (no sugar in my coffee, no thanks I don't need help etc. etc.) and being easy to please (I wasn't always just in general) meant I would make a good impression and people would want me around etc. Alot of people take this for a lack of standards. You need to focus on you and 100% what you want. Accept nothing less.

dating in NYC is tough, I'm 27 and have been in long term relationships my whole life. Look there are some girls out there who love nerdy guys, my ex is super nerdy and we would play video games and watch cartoons all the time, for me this was one of kind I was never able to be myself with anyone else which is why I'm here I guess...

That's until he decided he wanted to party more with his coworkers..

 

Look, I mostly get hit on by bros who i have no interest in, but you sound like a great guy and I think its amazing that you want to settle down so early, some people don't just want to wander from one relationship to the next.... You'll be fine, you sound like a great guy.
