I know that a lot of people here , including myself struggle with the weekends. So I thought I would start a thread where we could share ideas on how to beat these blues.

I want to do some classes next year ( most of them are finishing off now before Christmas )

I hate weekends now , and I can't always see my friends as they are mostly in relationships or married.

So I also joined meetup.com to make more single friends . All I do now is sit around and feel sorry for myself.

We could also post events and fun things happening in our areas , like film festivals.

And I also suggest trying new things . Don't like cooking ? join a cooking class. Don't like country music ? go to a festival or bar and have a laugh.

My friend told me , if you keep doing the same things you will get the same outcomes.Th

I joined meet up! Love it so far. I hope I'm brave enough to actually go to one of the meetings.

One of the other things I've done is try to do things I wanted to do while dating that he wouldnt do. I went to see dolly Parton in concert and I'm going to eat at a vegetarian restaurant next week.

Weekends are somewhat easier for me. My kids are home and I concentrate on them.

I joined meetup two years ago while still with my ex , I made three new friends through it. The night out was bit dull but they made it fun.

You are lucky to have kids . I am also going to do things I couldn't do with my ex :)

Hi Buttercup,

Thanks for the heads up of Meetup.com. It seems really cool and it would really help me a lot for when I move back to NYC for work after graduation!

Kageytn - Whenever I feel weird showing up to an event by myself at school, I always drag one of my friends along :D
