lonelynyc Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 My ex just sent me a really ****ty text. She heard through a mutual friend that I was back in shape, and interviewed at a prestigious company, and now she's texting me "You're becoming the person I always knew you could be." Hmmmm, I'm only 23 if the love was really strong, she'd be patient while I become that person. I replied with a simple "thank you." Then she goes on to say "It's funny how it took us breaking up." That last part pissed me off. I am still upset, but glad I didn't reply immediately with a "**** you." Nothing like a burst of profanity to show them how hung up you are over them. She wasn't the impetus for any of that stuff. I have always been ambitious, confident that I could be a successful person. Even when we were together I was career-oriented and beginning to get back into shape. Now she wants to act like her kind act of "letting me go" has been the driving force behind me getting my **** together? Really? She tried to start a relationship with a 35 year old man (according to our mutual friend) who, predictably, only wanted her for 1 night of sex. I honestly think she's looking for someone who has it all figured out just so that she'll never have to be selfless ever again. I certainly know how to pick 'em.
ShatteredReality Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 You could always reply with "I know right. I can finally breathe again! So much easier to be myself."
futuregopher Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Just have fun on your date tonight man! Good luck!!
geegirl Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 It's funny how it took us breaking up?! You should have replied, "It is funny! I was carrying dead weight all this time." Pffft! If there is anyone that needs to figure themselves out, she needs to. You're doing great. Have fun on your date and don't reply to her. Probably green with envy.
