antz2411 Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 im just curious women and men, how much weight did you guys lose after your break ups or gained?? lol
Ajax Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 I lost 20 pounds in the first month, which is a lot since I'm a small guy. It took me months to put it back on.
Kageytn Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 So far, I have lost 25 pounds and I look awesome!
radiodarcy Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 i haven't really lost any weight. but i have gained a few pounds and lost inches in my waist and hips thanks to the new workout routine i've been doing - - so i suspect the weight gain is muscle and not fat.
Author antz2411 Posted September 30, 2011 Author Posted September 30, 2011 so you guys lost weight by hitting the gym/working out or just by sitting around being depressed?
january2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 I didn't have any scales at the time, but I know I gained a few pounds because my clothes fitted differently. Then I lost it again after buying a set of scales, calorie-counting and logging my exercise for the first time in my life.
momto3boys Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 I lost 7 lbs so far (its been 3 weeks) but im pregnant so thats obviously not good. i lost weight from not being able to eat much. Least ill probably lose weight super quick after i have the baby from being upset, lol.
ken_25 Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Lost 6 pounds in 3 days after break up. Gained it back when I moved out.
Author antz2411 Posted September 30, 2011 Author Posted September 30, 2011 i guess a break up does a lil bit for the self esteem right? haha if yall can try looking at it this way lol
mike588 Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 I lost 12 pounds at 1st. Now that the worst is behind me and I'm hungry again it's coming back. A good sign that your moving on. Hitting the gym helps too.
Kageytn Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Mine was a combo of being stressed and not eating and working out. I was already training for a half marathon and working out with a trainer. I stopped for awhile when I was depressed then started again a couple of weeks ago. I run to combat my anxiety so I've been running every day. I have muscles now and my stomach is almost flat. I almost weigh what I did before the birth of my now ten year old child. I'm determined to hit that weight by Thanksgiving.

radiodarcy Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 i guess a break up does a lil bit for the self esteem right? haha if yall can try looking at it this way lol it's true! i literally had no self-esteem when he dumped me. but once i started changing my diet and challenging/pushing myself at the gym it helped me clear my head and gain more confidence. that in turn helped me focus on other things besides him and gain even more confidence. so while i'm not 100% over it, i feel a lot better about myself than i did before.
ccnaboy2000 Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 In the last week I lost all my appetite. I was 239 when we broke up ( I was 186 when we first started dating 1 1/2 years ago). I wasn't fat, but a little bigger since I am 6'1" it's hard to tell. Well since losing my appetite I've pretty much been on a water fast for the past week and a half. I've lost 23 pounds total. I am down to 217 and I seem to be losing a pound to two pounds a day. No food intake + lots of cardio daily = massive weight loss. Every time I go through a breakup I shed massive amounts of weight. My record when losing my wife of 4 years was 90lbs in 3 months. I know if I keep up what I am doing I should be in the 170/180 range in the next 30-40 days.
Lucio Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 i must have lost 2kg at least. my face looks smaller now and my pants are dropping.
Bruised Not Broken Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 I lost 20...10 by being depressed and then I got motivated and lost ten more with effort...I only needed to lose 10....but I clearly have body dysmorphic disorder so I'm shooting for another 10 Go ahead Antz...tell me how broken I am again
Desensitized Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Dropped down from 21% body fat to 12% by exercising and eating right. The best revenge is being successful and in shape, imo.
M2155 Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 I was eating a lot because I was home bored while he was out with his new GF I guess so I had put on some weight. So I started working out regularly a few weeks prior to the breakup where I sturggled to shed 3-4 lbs. Then after the breakup I lost 6-7 which was one of the positives I guess. I had no appetite for anything for a couple weeks, just me and Frosted Flakes. Saved money not wanting to go eat out too. Well, glad that part is over. Unfortunately now I'm getting back into food, but I have the hots (well I'm curious!) for someone new and if he likes me the same I hope to go on the butterflies diet (a girl can hope:))
lonelynyc Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 I have lost 30 lbs. in the past 2 months of being broken up. Working out is just about my only joy these days.
Diogenes Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 I lost 16lbs in two weeks, 22lbs total, went from 189 to 167. I went back to gym, figured since what little flab I had was gone I'd be back to "Abs" in no time. Amazing what week of eating basically nothing and not sleeping will do. None of my clothe fit anymore, except a pair of black jeans I bought in 1985 that were a wee bit too tight I threw in the bottom drawer. They fit fine now ;~) Now I'm muscling back up without the fat.
Buttercup84 Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 4 kg . Due to not eating well as I was depressed . I also started to eat healthier and go to the gym .
D-Lish Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 I lost 50 lbs on the divorce diet With my last ex, I lost a good 15 lbs.
Dark Phoenix Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 When I started dating my ex, back in high school, I weighed 165lbs. By the end of the relationship (3.5 years later) I weighed 190lbs. Present time: Sex: Male Age: 21 Height: 5'8" to 5'10" Weight: 150lbs Jean size (waist): 31" down from 34" For the first 4 months or so I was eating healthy and I did the first phase of P90X 3 times. For the past 2 months I stopped eating healthy and haven't exercised, but I haven't gained, or lost, any weight.
lymtal1 Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 30 pounds in 3 months. 20 i feel due to not caring about eating and depression. last month 10 due to eating better working out like a mad man. now working on getting into the best shape of my life. we are suppose to set goals right?
jaymz Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 When my marriage ended I lost 42lbs in a month. I have lost another 14lbs in the 3 months afterwards but at a much lower and more healthier rate. I ideally want to lose another 20lbs or so to get to my ideal weight. I lost the bulk by being on the divorce diet - no food, no sleep, walking for miles in a daze etc. Now I just cycle 50 miles a week to keep up the cardio and i eat more sensibly now. My waist went from 40" to 34" I am enjoying buying clothes again.
